    "description": "<p>A Referral Specialist is responsible for the professional and efficient management of the outpatient referral request process across all hospital outpatient clinics and departments. This role involves a variety of functions related to patient referrals, including but not limited to verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, processing referrals&mdash;both internal and external&mdash;and managing patient demographics, insurance information, and related records with outside facilities and providers. The Referral Specialist tracks referral progress and ensures completion in a timely manner.<br />\r\nAdditionally, the role demonstrates a foundational understanding of the Revenue Cycle and Power Chart systems to support seamless referral operations.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>What You&#39;ll Do:</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Monitor and process incoming ambulatory referrals promptly and efficiently.</li>\r\n\t<li>Answer multi-line telephones, take clear, detailed, and legible messages, and transfer calls to the appropriate department as needed.</li>\r\n\t<li>Respond to inquiries regarding patient referrals, directing clinical questions to the appropriate provider or clinical staff.</li>\r\n\t<li>Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to resolve any obstacles encountered during the referral process.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>Who You Are:</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Excellent Communication</li>\r\n\t<li>Knowledge of Healthcare Resources and Services</li>\r\n\t<li>Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking skills.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>Qualifications:&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree preferred.</li>\r\n\t<li>One year of experience in Healthcare Coordination, Patient Services, or related field preferred.&nbsp;</li>\r\n\t<li>Computer skills required: Competent with Microsoft Office and Outlook.</li>\r\n\t<li>Good telephone etiquette.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>Job Information:&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Full-time, day shifts including Saturdays.</li>\r\n\t<li>Starting wage $22.00 to $26.67</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>The foregoing description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and efforts or work conditions associated with the job.
