The Rolling Mill Machine Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating the Rolling Mill with a team member (Operator 2) using established metallurgical guidelines. The operator must assist with maintaining a production schedule for the equipment that includes processing material, material handling, tooling changeovers, and PM’s. This role is located in <strong>Wheeling, IL,</strong> and will be fully on-site. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Hourly Pay Range</strong>: $21.00 per hour to $26.00 per hour</p>\n<p><strong>Shift Differential:</strong> $2.00 per hour</p>\n<p><strong>Work Schedule</strong>: 3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10 PM to 6 AM. <em>Training during 1st shift - Monday - Friday, 6 AM - 2PM.</em></p>\n<p><strong>Pay Schedule</strong>: Bi-weekly</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At Wieland, we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be based upon various factors unique to each individual that may include, but are not limited to years of experience, industry knowledge, technical skills, education, qualifications, etc. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Rolling Mill Machine Operator Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work independently and as part of a team with safety as the number one priority. Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Supervisor, Safety or HR.</li>\n <li>Safely operating the equipment on and around RM including coil changeovers, roll changes (work and backup), monitoring the quality of material running, and basic maintenance. Material handling.</li>\n <li>Loading and unloading coils on machine.</li>\n <li>Setting up the equipment for production.</li>\n <li>Following and adjusting schedule developed by the Planning Department.</li>\n <li>Frontline line trouble shooting of RM and its associated equipment/communicating needs/issues to the Production Management and Maintenance Department as they arise.</li>\n <li>Performing in-process inspection, preparing and visually inspecting samples for QA; reduce scrap and monitor material quality</li>\n <li>Crosstrain in other areas of the Production Department and train other employees as RM Operator.</li>\n <li>Ensure a safe and environmentally responsible plant according to the applying regulations, and maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.</li>\n <li>Maintain 5S improvements.</li>\n <li>Cooperate with other areas to continuously improve quality, machine uptime, efficiency and productivity.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Rolling Mill Machine Operator Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent is required.</li>\n <li>1+ years of industrial skilled machine experience required.</li>\n <li>Ability to work with calipers, micrometers, and other types of testing equipment required.</li>\n <li>Ability to work under pressure with high stress levels required.</li>\n <li>Maintain production schedule.</li>\n <li>Monitor material quality, including flatness, gauge, hardness, grain size, and surface finish.</li>\n <li>Must be able to learn and safely operate an overhead crane, forklift, and pallet Jacks. (motorized and manual).</li>\n <li>Willing to work on short notice, volunteer overtime, and/or required overtime as needed.</li>\n <li>Ensure proper identification of coils and samples.</li>\n <li>Achieve production throughput, yield, and scrap goals.</li>\n <li>Maintain a positive attitude in a team environment</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><strong>Rolling Mill Machine Operator </strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
