    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Up to a $25,000 sign-on bonus.&nbsp;</p><p>The pay range for this position is $48.11-75.08.</p><p><strong>Position Summary: </strong>Provides clinical and administrative leadership and is responsible for the management of the assigned nursing division.\nThe Manager of Nursing is accountable for the management of patient care, human, fiscal and material resources and the total environment of the nursing unit.</p><p>\n<strong>Experience: </strong>Candidate must have five years nursing experience in an acute care setting with demonstrated abilities in leadership.\nThe nurse manager must possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Master's degree preferred. Certification in the area of specialty and/or leadership is preferred.</p><p>\n<strong>Essential Functions: </strong>1.\tLEADERSHIP: \nA.\tAssumes a leadership role in staffing and scheduling of personnel, considering appropriate utilization of personnel, scope of practice, competencies, patient needs and complexity of care.\nB.\tSupports a professional practice environment which fosters excellence in nursing practice.\nC.\tFosters professional nurse empowered decision‐making, accountability and autonomy in nursing practice.\n2.\tRESPONSE\nA.\tResponds and assumes appropriate role in emergency codes/crisis intervention.\n3.\tPATIENT: \nA.\tCommunicates with patient, family and healthcare providers regarding patient care, demonstrating strong communication skills. &nbsp;Makes patient rounds throughout shift.\nB.\tProvides, maintains and coordinates effective communication between nursing and all other departments.\nC.\tMaintains confidentiality while serving as a professional liaison with the community.\nD.\tFunctions as a mentor for development of nursing staff, encouraging professional growth.\nE.\tParticipates in professional continuing education programs.\nF.\tParticipates and assumes responsibilities on nursing committees, performance improvement initiatives.\nG.\tMeets all JCAHO and NYS requirements in medication management and demonstrates yearly competency with Pharmacy.\nH.\tDemonstrates knowledge of JCAHO Standards and responsibility in compliance.\nI.\tDemonstrates knowledge of scheduling and maintaining accurate records.</p><p>\n<strong>Other Duties: </strong>1.\tOther duties as assigned\n</p>",
