This is a great opportunity for <strong>CMAs</strong> seeking flexible scheduling while gaining experience in a unique and rewarding healthcare environment.</p>\n<p>As a <strong>Correctional CMA</strong>, you'll work alongside physicians, nurses, and correctional staff to provide essential healthcare services to an underserved patient population. In this fast-paced setting, no two days are the same. You'll assist with patient assessments, obtain vital signs, document medical histories, support clinical procedures, and help ensure patients receive timely, quality care.</p>\n<p>If you're looking for a role where you can expand your skills, enjoy schedule flexibility, and make a meaningful impact every shift, we'd love to hear from you.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>*New grads are encouraged to apply - we'll train you in the exciting field of correctional healthcare!*</em></strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>As a<strong> CMA</strong>, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Clinical Duties:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history</li>\n <li>Taking and documenting vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, weight, PPDs, EKGs and basic laboratory tests</li>\n <li>Staggered intermittent safety checks</li>\n <li>Administering medication (under the direction of a physician)</li>\n <li>Providing basic wound care, performing routine blood drawing procedures and routine clinical tasks</li>\n <li>Assisting with patient hygiene, ambulation and dressing changes</li>\n <li>Assisting providers during patient examinations and procedures</li>\n <li>Providing basic patient education and instructions</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Administrative Duties:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments</li>\n <li>Maintaining inventory of medical and office supplies</li>\n <li>Answering phones, emails and other forms of communications</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><em>New grads are encouraged to apply!</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Requirements / Qualifications</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>CMA Certification - Completion of an accredited medical assisting program</li>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent (GED)</li>\n <li>Be able to obtain CPR certification, if required</li>\n <li>Office Lab Assistant License (for Nevada only)</li>\n <li>Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information</li>\n <li>Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements</li>\n <li>Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Physical Capabilities:</strong></p>\n<p>Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why Join NaphCare?</strong></p>\n<p>NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US and we are growing.
