Description
The Paralegal program in the Public Service, Arts and Sciences Division invites applications for an Instructor/Assistant Professor of Paralegal position. The Paralegal program at Greenville Technical College is committed to challenging students with exemplary classroom instruction, highlighting project-oriented assignments, and providing hands-on experiences. One of the four longest running paralegal programs in the country, this program has been approved by the American Bar Association since 1987. The Paralegal program enrolls over 130 students in its associate degree program and employs 3 full-time and 6 part-time faculty members. The Paralegal program offers and associate’s degree in Applied Science, with courses that range from ethics, legal research, litigation, legal computer applications, and preparation for national certification. The mission of the Paralegal program is to provide quality education for students to assist attorneys in the effective delivery of legal services. The program is known for the depth of relationships with members of the legal community who provide valuable input about curriculum needs, serve as advisory committee members, faculty, employers, internship sponsors, and guest lecturers. The Paralegal program offers courses in three formats: traditional, hybrid and online. In this challenging role, you will support the Paralegal department at Greenville Technical College by providing exemplary classroom instruction for the students enrolled in the various introductory principle courses offered by the Paralegal department using a broad spectrum of methods. Duties may include any or all of the following: Teach Paralegal courses Prepare lectures - syllabi - tests Grade - assess student work Develop - implement new classroom strategies Consult with students Advise on academic progress Maintain competence through continuous professional development Perform other duties as assigned **Blanket Posting** - This job may be posted frequently in order to maintain an adequate pool of applicants.
