    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p>Sentinel is seeking an experienced <strong>Systems Engineer</strong> to support and enhance our clients on‑premise infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in <strong>SAN storage</strong>, <strong>virtualization</strong>, and <strong>infrastructure management</strong>, along with working knowledge of <strong>networking</strong> and exposure to <strong>AWS</strong>.</p>\n<p>You will work closely with an existing engineer, with responsibilities overlapping approximately 70–75% of the time. <strong>This role is hybrid with an onsite location in Troy, MI. This position is contract to hire located in Troy, MI.</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Responsibilities include:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage and maintain on‑premises infrastructure including servers, hosts, clusters, and virtual machines</li>\n <li>SAN storage systems (experience with older SAN technologies a plus)</li>\n <li>Oversee and troubleshoot virtualization environments (VMware or similar) </li>\n <li>Support and optimize storage architecture and capacity planning </li>\n <li>Administer switches and networking components; strong networking understanding is essential </li>\n <li>Contribute to backup processes (potential transition to Sentinel for backup automation) </li>\n <li>Participate in initiatives to simplify and modernize infrastructure (with CLI-based systems still in use) </li>\n <li>Collaborate with internal engineering partners on shared responsibilities </li>\n <li>Participate in occasional travel for special projects (rare)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>5-7+ years</strong> of hands-on experience with SAN equipment and storage technologies </li>\n <li>Strong experience managing <strong>virtual environments</strong> (VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar) </li>\n <li>Solid understanding of <strong>networking</strong>, switching, and related infrastructure </li>\n <li>Experience with <strong>AWS</strong> (a few years minimum) </li>\n <li>Proficiency with servers, clustering, and host-level administration </li>\n <li>Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and respond onsite as needed </li>\n <li>Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills</li>\n <li><strong>Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship</strong></li>\n <li>Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We focus on candidates that display our “ACE” factor – Attitude, Compassion, and Enthusiasm to deliver quality solutions with exceptional customer service. </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>What you get:</strong></p>\n<p>We offer weekly competitive pay, medical, dental, vision, 401K and more.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>MOTIVATED…..make IT happen!</strong></p>\n<p>      </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>Sentinel Technologies, Inc. has been rated a top workplace every year since 2012!</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About Us:       </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Sentinel</strong> delivers solutions that can efficiently address a range of IT needs – from security, to communications, to systems & networks, to software applications, to cloud and managed services; all of which include our staffing solutions for our clients.
