          "text": "<p>The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment used in TBM and tunneling operations. This role ensures that all machinery—both on the TBM and within the tunnel—operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The Mechanic works closely with supervisors, engineers, and equipment teams to perform inspections, respond to breakdowns, and support continuous tunneling progress.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><em>Maintenance &amp; Repairs</em></p><ul><li>Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on TBM mechanical systems, including pumps, grinders, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, conveyors, and rotating equipment.</li><li>Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs to restore equipment to full functionality.</li><li>Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime and maintain production targets.</li><li>Carry on the tasks dictated on the maintenance routine, report it in the maintenance book or the electronic system provide for those tasks.</li><li>Report to the Mechanical Foreman or the Plant Engineer in charge about whatever issue raised on the plant and equipment.</li></ul><p><em>Troubleshooting</em></p><ul><li>Identify root causes of mechanical issues using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and hands‑on inspection.</li><li>Work with fitters, engineers and supervisors to implement long‑term corrective actions.</li><li>Adjust, calibrate, and fine‑tune mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.</li></ul><p><em>Inspections &amp; Monitoring</em></p><ul><li>Conduct routine inspections of TBM and tunnel equipment to identify wear, leaks, misalignment, or potential failures.</li><li>Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities promptly.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.</li></ul><p><em>Safety &amp; Compliance</em></p><ul><li>Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and tunneling best practices.</li><li>Participate in daily safety briefings and ensure safe operation of tools and machinery.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area.</li></ul><p><em>Collaboration &amp; Support</em></p><ul><li>Work closely with Mechanical Foremen, TBM Operators, Electricians, and Fitters to support continuous tunneling operations.</li><li>Assist with TBM maintenance during scheduled shutdowns, cutterhead inspections, and major mechanical interventions.</li><li>Support shift‑based operations, including nights and weekends as required.</li></ul>",
