This includes working with IBM and other vendors to address product defects, issues, and usage questions.</span></li>\n<li><span>Configuration of DB2 groups and subsystems in SYSPLEX data-sharing environment, supporting IBM CICS, batch COBOL, and distributed access applications.</span></li>\n<li><span>Perform problem analysis and resolution, both technical and application related</span></li>\n<li><span>Performance and capacity tuning of system parameters and resources, utilizing various monitoring and reporting tools.</span></li>\n<li><span>Responsible for DB2 availability and recovery strategies and procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span>Documentation of policies and procedures in compliance with ISO 27002 standards.</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide mentoring and cross-functional collaboration with business units. </span></li>\n<li><span>Provide secondary and level 2 support for the DBA staff on system issues, application. performance and overall DB2 issues, including being comfortable with high-pressure, time-sensitive environments. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span>Qualifications</span></span></span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>12+ years IBM System Z experience and concepts, with considerable knowledge in the following:</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>SMP/E </span></li>\n<li><span>IBM DB2 utilities, BMC Mainview for DB2 and BMC Tool Suite for DB2, particularly Detector, Subsystem analyzer, Apptune, AMI Reorg and AMI Unload/Load</span></li>\n<li><span>Experience with DB2 z/OS as a distributed server</span></li>\n<li><span>FLASH technology, DASD replication techniques</span></li>\n<li><span>z/OS Storage management </span></li>\n<li><span>RACF security management w/DB2 z/OS</span></li>\n<li><span>Coupling Facility</span></li>\n<li><span>Networking concepts (IP, SNA)</span></li>\n<li><span>WLM concepts</span></li>\n<li>USS - z/OS UNIX System Services</li>\n<li><span>‘For-Bit’ Data structures</span></li>\n<li><span>REXX application programming</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>7+ years IBM DB2 experience, with advanced knowledge in the following:</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Bufferpool/memory management</span></li>\n<li>DB2 internal structures (RID, EDM, BPs, etc.)</li>\n<li><span>Tablespace/Page structures / UTS</span></li>\n<li><span>Backup/recovery/logging facilities and strategies</span></li>\n<li><span>DB2 locking</span></li>\n<li><span>ZPARMS</span></li>\n<li><span>DB2 tracing/IFCIDs</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span>Experience in problem determination and analysis</span></li>\n<li><span>Analytical / critical / “outside-the-box” thinking in problem solving, especially in possible critical, high-pressure situations.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span>Additional Skills A Plus</span></span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Informatica PowerExchange &amp; IDMC</span></li>\n<li><span>Java, web services, SOA concepts</span></li>\n<li><span>Application DBA Responsibilities </span></li>\n<li><span>DB2-AI and Cloud Modernization Technology </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><br></p>",
