Apply today!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position </span>                     <span>Electrical Controls Technologist</span></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Shift</span></span><span>                            Full-Time, 40 hours a week</span></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Salary</span></span><span>                         80,000-100,000</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Department</span>               <span>Engineering- Mechatronics</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location</span>                     <span>Richmond, BC, Canada</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reports to</span>                  Mechatronics <span>Controls Team Lead</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Purpose</span></p>\n<p>In this role, you will be responsible for owning the design, delivery, and commissioning of ride control systems that improve safety, reduce project lead times, and ensure consistent, right-first-time execution across global projects. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role bridges engineering design and project delivery, ensuring that control systems are technically sound, buildable, reliable, and commercially competitive.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and deliver robust, safety-compliant control systems for complex ride installations</li>\n<li>Lead PLC/HMI development and control system architecture (IEC 61131-3, Siemens TIA Portal)</li>\n<li>Own functional safety design and validation, including risk assessment and ISO 13849 compliance</li>\n<li>Ensure right-first-time design and commissioning, minimizing rework and field defects</li>\n<li>Lead commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer handover on global project sites</li>\n<li>Support bid and proposal development with cost-effective, buildable control solutions</li>\n<li>Drive standardization and reuse of control architectures across ride platforms</li>\n<li>Collaborate cross-functionally with Project Execution, Product, and Supply Chain to deliver on time</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, company standards, and regulatory requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What success looks like</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electrical system design and PLC programming completed according to defined project scope and schedule</li>\n<li>Systems commissioned on schedule with minimal rework</li>\n<li>Reduced controls-related defects and field issues</li>\n<li>Faster startup and smoother customer handover</li>\n<li>Increased reuse of standardized control solutions</li>\n<li>Positive customer feedback during installation and commissioning</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">COMPETENCIES, SKILLS &amp; Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Mechatronics preferred)</li>\n<li>4–6 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering</li>\n<li>Strong experience in PLC programming, system integration, and commissioning</li>\n<li>Proficiency with:</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Siemens TIA Portal and industrial automation systems</li>\n<li>Industrial networks (PROFINET, PROFIsafe, Ethernet/IP, Modbus)</li>\n<li>IEC 61131-3 programming languages (Ladder, FBD, Structured Text)</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Solid understanding of functional safety design and validation (ISO 13849, SISTEMA)</li>\n<li>Experience with electrical installation, system design, schematics, and AutoCAD</li>\n<li>Strong troubleshooting capability across software, hardware, and networked systems</li>\n<li>Experience working with international standards and regulators is an asset</li>\n<li>Frequent international travel required</li>\n<li>On-site assignments of 2–3+ weeks for installation, commissioning, and support</li>\n<li>Must be able to travel globally without restriction</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHITEWATER COMPETENCIES:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accountability – We do what we say</li>\n<li>Collaboration – We work well together</li>\n<li>Customer Focus – We know and respond to our customers</li>\n<li>Communication – We listen to and understand each other</li>\n<li>Authenticity – We are honest and trust each other</li>\n<li>Resilience – We deal effectively with pressure, are persistent and optimistic</li>\n<li>Flexibility &amp;
