Additionally, the Psychiatrist provides clinical consultation to mental health and health care staff on identified cases, ensuring high-quality mental health care for inmates. Overall, the position requires a strong commitment to providing compassionate care, sound clinical judgment, and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams. </p>\n<h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide psychiatric services to inmate patients, including evaluations, treatment, and monitoring of psychotropic medications in compliance with professional and company policies and procedures. </li>\n <li>Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure uniformity of mental health services and documentation of psychiatric services. </li>\n <li>Provide supervision and oversight to psychiatric nurse (if applicable) and consultation/training services to mental health and medical staff. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in involuntary medication of high-risk inmates and provide documentation of psychiatric services contacts as requested. </li>\n <li>Exercise independent medical judgment in diagnosis and treatment of patients while adhering to approved medication formulary and notifying appropriate staff of clinical or administrative concerns. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Qualifications & Requirements</strong></h2>\n<p>Education</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Doctorate in psychiatry.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Experience</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Training and experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Licenses/Certifications</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Physician who is licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment</li>\n <li>Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry.</li>\n <li>CPR Certified.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer</strong></h2>\n<p>We are committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of uniqueness.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We celebrate a variety of backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>We encourage you to apply!</strong> If you are excited about a role but your experience doesn’t seem to align perfectly with every element of the job description, we encourage you to apply.
