    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Yorktown High School for SY27.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.</li><li>Possession of a collegiate professional or postgraduate professional license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with endorsement in Business &amp; Information Technology.</li><li>Due to the various courses offered in Business &amp; Information Technology, specific industry certifications may be needed by the qualified candidate to teach courses where the students will sit for an industry certification test.</li><li>Candidates with a Master’s Degree in Business &amp; Information Technology are highly preferred.</li><li>Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with staff, students, and the public.</li></ul><div style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><i>Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.</i></div><div style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;</div><div style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EXPERIENCE:&nbsp;</div><ul><li>Experience teaching secondary 6<sup>th</sup> – 12<sup>th</sup> grade business and information technology courses.</li><li>Knowledge of entrepreneurship business development and business startup requirements.</li><li>Experience with integrating business and information technology subject content with core disciplines.</li></ul><p>RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Teaches secondary school level business and technical subjects including business management, accounting, finance, entrepreneurship, business law, fashion merchandising, and marketing.</li><li>Demonstrates knowledge and skills in database administration, computer networking, computer programming, and cyber security.</li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of planning and instruction delivery with project-based learning activities.</li><li>Develops and implements both group and individual lesson plans for daily, quarter, semester, and year-long periods planning instructional experiences for students in accordance with established curriculum.</li><li>Establishes and implements behavioral protocols; observes and evaluates student performance, social and leadership development.</li><li>Instructs students utilizing a variety of classroom methods, adapting methodology, and instructional materials to meet student needs, abilities, and IEPs.</li><li>Manage the safe use and operation of the lab and lab equipment.</li><li>Instruct students on the safe use of lab equipment and appropriate behavior within the lab and classroom.</li><li>Collaborates with business partners to provide enhanced authentic learning experiences for students.</li><li>Integrates student organizations leadership activities with curricula content and participate in after school activities within the school, district, region, state, and nationally.</li><li>Supports school-related extracurricular activities and maintains positive professional communications with parents, guardians, administration, and colleagues.</li><li>Participate in in-service and professional development activities and staff meetings, as required or assigned.</li><li>Complete other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>SALARY:&nbsp;</p><p>Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule</p><p><br><strong>Arlington Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left: 0px;\"><strong>It is the policy of the Arlington School Board, as stated in Policy G-2.30, Employee Relations – Equal Employment Opportunity - that “Employment opportunities shall not be restricted, abridged or otherwise adversely affected on the basis of race, national origin, creed, color, religion, gender, age, economic status, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, genetic information, gender identity or expression, and/or disability.”</strong></p>",
