Description The Natural Color Conversion is here and Sensient is growing! We are adding a QC Technician to our team in Kingston, Ontario. This exciting role will perform raw material and standardized test procedures and methods. You will need a strong working knowledge of wet chemistry techniques, and some instrumentation skills. Adherence to Good Laboratory Practices is required. What You’ll Do: Assist with QC inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards. Work with standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods. Provide technical support to the quality and quality engineering functions. Operate and maintain HPLC, GC/MS and various lab instrumentation such as Xrite and UV/Vis using accepted GLP procedures. Utilize microprocessor-controlled instrumentation with computer aided integration system. Record and measure data, calculate results. Perform a variety of laboratory wet chemical tests on all raw materials using written methods and procedures. Use of general laboratory equipment including pipets, burets, K-F titrator and analytical balances. Approve and reject samples, following product guidelines and specifications, record results on every sample analyzed using lab software and databases. Effectively communicate, both verbally and written, lab data and results to other departments. Participate in Gage R&R and other statistical studies of QC methods. What You’ll Bring: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education. Technical Degree required. 5 years external experience required and/or 2 years Sensient Colors QC experience required. Understanding of basic statistical tools and basic laboratory instrumentation experience. Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access). Strong communication skills. Technical ability. Regular, on-time attendance is essential. Position requires standing for long periods of time (approximately 75% of the shift).
