Description

Sandblaster / Painter in the Corpus Christi, Texas area for PK Industrial. Sandblaster / Painter Responsibilities: Performs all types of industrial painting work and surface preparation. Prepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, sandblasting, or other means, as necessary. Mix various paints, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and special protective coatings for specified consistency, and drying properties. Paint buildings, structures, equipment, and piping using brush, spray gun or another applicator. Cleans and stores tools and equipment and cleans work sites. Assists in a variety of maintenance and repair work on equipment including paint pumps, blast equipment, air compressors, generators, and the like. Assists in performing preventative maintenance on blasting equipment, spray equipment, and pneumatic systems. Bends/stoops/reaches and lifts/carries heavy objects weighing up to 80 pounds; twists torso 45 o to 90 o to perform essential functions; ability to climb staircases; works in confined spaces; climbs ladders and onto scaffolding; works in inclement weather and a variety of situations. May be assigned to wear a respirator and/or self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) as needed. Appropriately fills out hourly time sheets. Acknowledges and follows all safety requirements. Performs related duties as needed or assigned. Internal Duties Keep good morale with all coworkers and staff. Ability to work well with others and take direction from superiors. Acknowledges and appreciates each team member’s contributions. Uphold excellent safety practices and help maintain safe working conditions. Requirements Must be able to pass required background check/DOT drug testing. Must be able to perform work out of state. Ability to follow directions. Ability to problem solve.
