As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Right now we’re looking for a <strong>Biomedical Technologist </strong>to work in our<strong> Biomedical department.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Employment Status: </strong>Temporary Part-time <strong>Duration: </strong>September 2026<strong>Hours of Work: </strong>Must be able to work all rotating shifts – Days/Evenings/Nights – Weekends and Statutory Stats. Must be able to share 24/7 On-Call for Biomedical Services<strong>Location:  </strong>Humber River Health, Wilson Site. Travelling between all hospital sites required. <strong>Labour Group: </strong>NowU<strong>Reporting Relationship: </strong>Manager, Biomedical Technology</p>\n<p><strong>Hourly Rate:</strong> $43.555 - $52.021</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Services, installs, maintains, and repairs all medical equipment including but not limited to the following; medical, lab, diagnostic, and electronic medical equipment safely and promptly</li>\n <li>Performs incoming inspections and testing on all new equipment and newly arrived equipment that has been serviced outside the hospital, and maintains an up-to-date incoming inspection and service record of this equipment</li>\n <li>Acquires the training and knowledge necessary to repair and service selected new and existing medical equipment</li>\n <li>Performs preventive maintenance tasks, maintains PM records, and participates in Department and Hospital Quality programs and initiatives</li>\n <li>Maintains competence by participating in hospital education and departmental equipment training programs</li>\n <li>Works with the other Biomedical Electronics Technologists and Hospital to ensure a safe environment for staff, visitors and patients</li>\n <li>Knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging systems is preferred</li>\n <li>Knowledge of IT networks is preferred</li>\n <li>Any tasks similar to the above that is determined to be necessary to the functioning of the Hospital.</li>\n <li>Project work and other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate of a Community College Biomedical Engineering Technologist program, or Graduate of a Community College Electronic Technologist Program</li>\n <li>Two years of hospital biomedical technology experience</li>\n <li>CBET Certification is an Asset; however the selected candidate should be eligible to obtain the CBET certification within 3 years of hiring</li>\n <li>Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication and interpersonal skills</li>\n <li>Willing and available to attend manufacturer's training courses</li>\n <li>Good command of the English Language (both verbal and written) required</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision</li>\n <li>Demonstrated interpersonal skills, a communication and customer service skills </li>\n <li>Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 35 kg’s)</li>\n <li>Ability to work in fast pace environment</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently or as a member of a team</li>\n <li>Candidate will be expected to obtain CBET certifications within 3 years from hiring</li>\n <li>Excellent attendance and discipline free record required</li>\n <li>A valid Ontario driver’s license required for travel between all hospital sites </li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
