Description

THOR Solutions  is actively seeking a Senior-Level Engineering Technician with experience with U.S Naval Air and Surface Search Radars & Electronic Navigation Systems to provide full-time support for the Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) in  Mayport, FL. The candidate’s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions: Fleet Technical Assists Total Ship Readiness Assessment Monthly Status Reports Logistic Support Interpreting technical documents to assess, repair and document deficiencies. Configuring equipment in alternate structures to meet mission requirements. Location: Full Time onsite at Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) in Mayport, FL. Travel:  Up to 10% travel is anticipated. Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches) or vision. Existing Secret Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate will already possess an Active or Interim Secret security clearance. An otherwise strongly qualified candidate with highly relevant experience but no current security clearance may be considered. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:    A high school diploma, GED equivalent, or a relevant U.S. Navy technical school diploma. At least ten (10) years of relevant electrical experience within the last fifteen (15) years in the operation, repair, maintenance and assessment of U.S. Naval Air and Surface Search Radars & Electronic Navigation Systems to include but not limited to: Air Search Radars (AN/SPS-49, AN/SPS-73, AN/SPS-48G, TACAN) Surface Search Radars (AN/SPS-67, AN/SPS-73(V)12, AN/SPS-55) Navigation Equipment (WSN 7/7A/7B Gyrocompasses, Digital Electromagnetic Log (DEML/WSN-8), Digital Hybrid Speed Log (DYHSL/WSN-9), Digital Magnetic Flux Gate Compass). Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting methods for visits. Demonstrate regularly using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment. Demonstrate ability for interpreting wiring diagrams and control schematics. Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes. Demonstrate an ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics and plans and the ability as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to troubleshoot, analyze and provide distance support for listed equipment. Proficient with common productivity software. Strong communication skills.
