This role develops 3D models and production drawings, performs structural/thermal/fluid analyses as required, and coordinates with electrical, controls, production, and shipyard teams to deliver compliant, install-ready solutions for commercial, offshore, and government/naval platforms.&nbsp;This&nbsp;position&nbsp;plays&nbsp;an&nbsp;important&nbsp;role&nbsp;in&nbsp;meeting&nbsp;our&nbsp;policy&nbsp;of&nbsp;supporting&nbsp;the continued success of our customers.</p><h1>Responsibilities:</h1><p><strong>Design &amp; Modeling</strong></p><ul><li>Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and installation arrangements for marine equipment, foundations, enclosures, machinery, and related components.</li><li>Produce high-quality 2D production drawings, fabrication packages, and bills of materials (BOMs) with strong GD&amp;T discipline.</li><li>Create ship integration deliverables such as layout drawings, foundation/interface drawings, and installation details aligned to shipyard standards.</li><li>Manage design data and revisions in PDM/PLM systems; execute ECR/ECO workflows and maintain configuration control.</li></ul><p><strong>Marine Integration &amp; Production Support</strong></p><ul><li>Coordinate with shipyard/outfitting teams to ensure designs are buildable, serviceable, and install-ready (clearances, lifting, access, maintainability).</li><li>Support material selection and manufacturing methods; collaborate with procurement and suppliers to define technical requirements and resolve issues.</li><li>Provide shopfloor and field support during fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning; troubleshoot mechanical integration issues.</li></ul><p><strong>Engineering Analysis (as required by program scope)</strong></p><ul><li>Perform or oversee structural analyses (static, fatigue, modal/vibration) for foundations, brackets, equipment supports, and machinery components.</li><li>Perform or oversee CFD/thermal/fluid analyses for cooling, ventilation, intake/discharge, and heat rejection challenges when applicable.</li><li>Conduct piping network and/or pipe stress analysis for marine piping systems as required (supports, flexibility, vibration, thermal growth).</li></ul><p><strong>Quality, Testing, and Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and support test plans (FAT/SAT), inspection criteria, and technical documentation packages.</li><li>Work with class societies and customers to support approvals, reviews, and compliance documentation (as applicable).</li><li>Participate in root-cause investigations and corrective actions (NCR/MRB), driving practical solutions that protect schedule and quality.</li></ul><p><strong>Project Execution</strong></p><ul><li>Support engineering estimates, schedules, and risk management for assigned work packages.</li><li>Communicate progress, constraints, and technical trade-offs clearly to internal leadership and program stakeholders.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Education:</strong> BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).</li><li><strong>Experience:</strong> [8+] years in marine, shipbuilding, offshore, industrial equipment, or mission-critical mechanical design (government/defense a plus).</li><li><strong>3D CAD proficiency:</strong> Demonstrated experience with one or more: <strong>SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, PTC Creo, Siemens NX, CATIA</strong>.</li><li><strong>2D drafting:</strong> Strong <strong>AutoCAD</strong> capability and experience producing fabrication/installation drawings.</li><li><strong>Configuration control:</strong> Experience with <strong>PDM/PLM</strong> tools (e.g., SolidWorks PDM, Autodesk Vault, Teamcenter, Windchill, 3DEXPERIENCE).</li><li><strong>Drawing practices:</strong> Proven ability creating detailed drawings, BOMs, and applying <strong>GD&amp;T</strong>.</li><li><strong>Marine integration mindset:</strong> Knowledge of shipboard installation constraints (space, access, weight/COG impacts, corrosion protection, maintainability).</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with electrical, controls, production, procurement, and shipyard teams.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><p><strong>Shipyard / Outfitting Platforms</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with shipbuilding design environments: <strong>AVEVA Marine / AVEVA E3D</strong>, <strong>CADMATIC</strong>, <strong>ShipConstructor</strong>.</li><li>Clash management, spool/production outputs, and model-based shipyard workflows.</li></ul><p><strong>Simulation &amp; Analysis Tools</strong></p><ul><li>FEA experience with <strong>ANSYS Mechanical</strong>, <strong>Abaqus</strong>, <strong>MSC Nastran/Patran</strong>, or <strong>Altair HyperWorks/OptiStruct</strong>.</li><li>CFD/thermal experience with <strong>ANSYS Fluent/CFX</strong>, <strong>STAR-CCM+</strong>, or <strong>OpenFOAM</strong>.</li></ul><p><strong>Piping &amp; Fluid Systems</strong></p><ul><li>Pipe stress tools: <strong>Caesar II</strong> or <strong>AutoPIPE</strong>.</li><li>Network tools: <strong>AFT Fathom/Arrow</strong> or <strong>PIPE-FLO</strong>.</li><li>Familiarity with hydraulics simulation tools (e.g., <strong>Simcenter Amesim</strong> or <strong>MATLAB/Simulink</strong>) is a plus.</li></ul><p><strong>Marine/Vessel Tools &amp;
