We seek employees who bring different and innovative ways of seeing the world and solving problems.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Working under the immediate supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician II interacts with health care providers to perform a variety of technical pharmaceutical tasks including preparing intravenous admixtures, triaging medication-related communications, and maintaining the electronic medical record.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a Per-Diem role working a variable schedule Monday thru Friday out of our Overlake Medical Center location. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>General Responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare, package, and label medication in an accurate and efficient manner</li>\n <li>Compounding of sterile intravenous admixtures including hazardous, non-hazardous, and Investigational Drug Service medications</li>\n <li>Assist in the training of pharmacy technicians, apprentices, and interns</li>\n <li>Triage incoming phone calls and electronic messages relating to medications</li>\n <li>Interact with professional and technical staff in a courteous manner</li>\n <li>Cleaning and restocking sterile compounding areas</li>\n <li>Other pharmacy related duties in accordance with regulations under Washington State Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Investigational Drug Management: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Additional training requirements include (training provided during onboarding): CITI/human subjects, Aurora/Florence, Vestigo, Epic Willow Ambulatory </li>\n <li>Vestigo documentation </li>\n <li>Log into Vestigo program daily and complete any pharmacy tasks for their site</li>\n <li>Manage inventory of investigational product (IP), including independently ordering drug within scope of authority, receiving, organizing and monitoring the use of IP and following IDS destruction policy when applicable</li>\n <li>Maintain separate supplies of IP for trials that have this requirement</li>\n <li>May be asked to serve as a delegate on research study</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Inventory/Purchasing:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for ordering adequate drug for the site they work at</li>\n <li>Maintain adequate on-site drug inventory to meet patient needs</li>\n <li>Perform inventory outdates to check for any expired products</li>\n <li>Assist site Pharmacist Lead with returning drugs that are no longer needed or expired (Inmar returns)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM):</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Monitoring ADM when drug stock is out or running low</li>\n <li>Preparing stock for pharmacist check, restocking and completing documentation of ADM (i.e. Omnicell, Pyxis)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>E-boxes/crash carts:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Complete regular e-boxes/code cart checks to ensure adequate drug stock and no expired drugs </li>\n <li>Prepare restocking of e-boxes and crash carts as needed for pharmacist final check and then complete restock</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>\n <li>Current Washington state pharmacy technician certification.</li>\n <li>1 year pharmacy technician experience or completion of Fred Hutch pharmacy apprentice program</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner</li>\n <li>Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations</li>\n <li>Ability to use a mouse, navigate computer programs, enter data into computer systems accurately and efficiently</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge and experience compounding sterile intravenous admixtures</li>\n <li>Knowledge and experience working with hazardous medications</li>\n <li>Knowledge of and experience with electronic medical records</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work effectively as a member of a team</li>\n</ul>\n<strong>Pre Employment Drug Screening: </strong> As a condition of employment Fred Hutch conducts pre-employment drug testing for this pharmacy role. All offers of employment in the pharmacy department are conditional on the applicant successfully completing and passing a drug test in accordance with the Fred Hutch policy. The hourly pay range for this position is from $38.43 to $57.64, which includes the per diem differential, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.  This is a Per-Diem role working a variable schedule Monday thru Friday out of our Overlake Medical Center location.  Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
