Through the holistic integration of its Pillars of Opportunity, Sasha Bruce is able to provide safe homes, life skills, and workforce development to meet the unique needs of homeless youth. For more than 45 years, Sasha Bruce has implemented innovative interventions aimed at ending youth homelessness in the DC region. Today, the programs in DC and Prince George&rsquo;s County, MD, reach over 6,500 runaway, homeless, abused, and neglected youth, and their families.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>About the Independent Living Program</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The Independent Living Program is a 24-months Apartment Style living residential program designed to assist twelve (12) homeless young adults between ages 18-24, in acquiring the skills and resources they need to live independently.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">ILP provides comprehensive services including life skills, employment, education, housing, counseling, referrals to other community services. Upon completion of the program, each young adult will receive aftercare services to ensure continued independence.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Job Summary:</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The Weekend Youth Engagement Specialist is responsible for monitoring the safety and conduct of house residents; and providing clinical and crisis intervention, as needed. <strong><u>This position is Saturday and Sunday 3 PM To 11 PM EST.&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Duties and Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Responsible for reporting, planning and implementation of the weekday activity schedule.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Make regular house check inspections inside the building and in the area immediately outside and check individual rooms when necessary.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain all necessary records, including but not limited to legible, comprehensive and accurate reports of house activities in the house log.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Provide crisis intervention and on-site counseling.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Carry out emergency fire evacuation, and emergency procedures in case of an illness or accident.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Provide office coverage, answer and record all phone calls and visitors.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ensure supervision of house participants to include enforcing house rules and house safety.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Participate in training provided or recommended by the Agency, during non-shift hours, as required.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Participate in regular supervision meetings with the program director.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs other job-related duties as assigned.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Qualifications:&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">High School Diploma or GED with 2 to 3 years&rsquo; relevant experience in Human Services or a related field.
