    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>To provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<strong>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)</strong>  \n<li>Responds to all emergency calls, and provides security escorts.</li> \n<li>Aides individuals needing assistance.</li> \n<li>Completes all reports and daily activity log.</li> \n<li>Dispatches other security personnel, as needed.</li> \n<li>Monitors CCTV and alarm systems.</li> \n<li>Provides internal and external patrols of the facility, by checking all areas of the hospitals and campuses.</li> \n<li>Remains at post through scheduled shifts.</li> \n<li>Locks and unlocks specified areas daily.</li> \n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<strong>JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)</strong>\n<ul>\n <strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</strong>\n <li>Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.</li>\n <li>Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the employee's state of residence, and have and maintain an acceptable driving record.</li>\n <li>Knowledgeable in the laws of the State of Indiana.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of policies and procedures of the hospital and the security department. </li>\n <li>Requires crisis intervention training to handle hostile behaviors and patient restraint training. </li>\n <li>Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. </li>\n <li>Ability to communicate over a radio and telephone. </li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment. </li>\n <li>Ability to make quick decisions and handle situations with good judgment and common sense. </li>\n <li>Ability to recognize safety hazards and take corrective action, when necessary. </li>\n <li>Ability to remain calm in the presence danger, consistent with controlling violent and hostile behaviors.</li> \n</ul>\n<strong>EDUCATION</strong>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required </li>\n <li>Prior law enforcement or security experience is preferred. </li>\n <li>1 Customer Care/Support Required </li>\n <li>Security Preferred </li>\n <li>Public Admin./Gov't/Defense - Police and Sheriff's Patrol Officer Preferred</li> \n</ul> \n<strong>STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR</strong> Meets the Standards of Behavior as outlined in Personnel Policy and Procedure #1, Employee Relations Code. \n<strong>CONFIDENTIALITY/HIPAA/CORPORATE COMPLIANCE</strong> Demonstrates knowledge of procedures for protecting and maintaining security, confidentiality and integrity of employee, patient, family, organizational and other medical information.
