The position will directly support and lead the expansion of our hydraulic engineering capabilities in the dams and levees market, leveraging existing staff resources, and collaborating with other senior dam and levee practitioners across the firm. We offer <u>competitive pay and benefits and well-being programs</u> to support you and your family. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>To Learn More Visit: http://www.geosyntec.com/careers/.</p>\n<h2>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide technical leadership and guidance to expand the hydraulic engineering practice within Geosyntec’s Dams and Levees business line.</li>\n <li>Work on rehabilitation and design of existing and new spillways, outlet works, and other appurtenant dam and levee hydraulic structures.</li>\n <li>Downstream hazard assessment and dam breach modeling for inundation mapping and support of direct and indirect economic consequence estimation. </li>\n <li>Inspections of existing hydraulic structures and dam safety review of previous analyses and studies against the current state of the practice and design criteria.</li>\n <li>Flood hazard studies, reservoir routing and stage-discharge frequency analyses in support of semi-quantitative and fully quantitative risk assessments;</li>\n <li>Interacting with client representatives;</li>\n <li>Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;</li>\n <li>Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role in lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring;</li>\n <li>Help broaden our reputation and visibility via publishing and presenting at prominent industry conferences such as US Society on Dams, Association of State Dam Safety.</li>\n <li>Task and project management, including planning and directing staff, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;</li>\n <li>Recruiting, supervising, and mentoring junior staff; and</li>\n <li>Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, presentations, and proposals.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education and Licensure</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in water resources or environmental engineering or a closely related field with emphasis on water resources or a closely related discipline. (required)</li>\n <li>Advanced degrees of the same. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Professional registration (i.e., P.E.) (required)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills, Experience and Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>At least 7 years (8+ preferred) of direct engineering consulting experience working on water resource projects with a focus on dams and levees; or an equivalent combination of education and experience working on the types of projects described above. (required)</li>\n <li>Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)</li>\n <li>Experience with project management and business development. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Excellent leadership and detail oriented. (required)</li>\n <li>Experience performing hydrologic studies for dams and specific experience performing probabilistic flood hazard analyses. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Experience with modeling tools such as platforms like HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1-D and 2-D), or similar (required).  CFD or other 3-D models (preferred). HEC-LifeSim, HEC-FIA, DAMRAE or similar. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Team player who enjoys networking, exceptional oral and written communication skills. (required)</li>\n <li>Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel for site visits, inspections, and other business-related meetings or conferences. (required)</li>\n <li>Regular field work and overnight travel. (required) </li>\n <li>Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred) </li>\n <li>Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required. </li>\n <li>Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
