    "description": "<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Bioinformatics Scientist – Software Quality &amp; Validation  </span></span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">-</span> <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">San Diego, CA| Remote (PST hours) </span><br><br>We are looking to hire a candidate with the mentioned skill sets and experience for one of our clients within the pharmaceutical Industry<br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location:</span> Remote (PST hours required) OR San Diego, CA (local preferred)<br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Overview</span></p>\n<p>We are seeking a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Bioinformatics Scientist to support the development, validation and quality assurance of bioinformatics software solutions used in genomic and molecular diagnostic applications.</span> This role collaborates closely with Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Quality, Product Development, and Research teams to ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and compliant bioinformatics workflows and analytical platforms.</p>\n<p>The ideal candidate combines strong bioinformatics expertise with software validation, testing, and quality engineering experience in a regulated life sciences, diagnostics or genomics environment.<br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support development, testing, validation, and deployment of bioinformatics software applications and analysis pipelines</li>\n<li>Design and execute verification and validation (V&amp;V) activities for bioinformatics algorithms, workflows, and software systems</li>\n<li>Collaborate with software engineers, bioinformaticians, and scientists to define testing strategies and quality requirements</li>\n<li>Develop test plans, test cases, and automated testing frameworks to ensure software reliability and performance</li>\n<li>Analyze genomic and molecular diagnostic datasets to validate pipeline outputs and software functionality</li>\n<li>Investigate, document, and track software defects and support root-cause analysis</li>\n<li>Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and release activities</li>\n<li>Generate technical documentation, validation reports, and quality records supporting product development</li>\n<li>Support continuous improvement initiatives in software quality, test automation, and development processes</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards and procedures in regulated environments<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">3+ years of experience in bioinformatics, software quality engineering, scientific software validation, or related areas</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience with genomic, NGS, molecular diagnostics, or bioinformatics software products</span></li>\n<li>Proficiency in Python, Bash, R, or similar scripting/programming languages</li>\n<li>Experience working in Linux-based environments</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of SDLC, software testing methodologies, and validation principles</li>\n<li>Experience with defect tracking systems and test management tools</li>\n<li>Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills</li>\n<li>Experience validating bioinformatics pipelines or genomic workflows</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of NGS technologies and genomic data analysis</li>\n<li>Experience with Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks</li>\n<li>Familiarity with SQL and database validation testing</li>\n<li>Experience in regulated environments (FDA, CLIA, CAP, ISO 13485, or medical device software)</li>\n<li>Exposure to cloud-based bioinformatics platforms and workflow orchestration tools<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Other Job Details:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Duration:</em></span> 12 months with a high possibility of extension.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Pay Rate: </em></span>$35/hr. on C2C. or $30/hr. on W2. </li>\n<li><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Interviews</span>:</em><em> </em>Video interviews.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Docs required:</em><em> </em></span>ID proof will be required.</li>\n</ul>",
