    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">POSITION SUMMARY<br><br>Infection Preventionist responsibilities include:&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in; line-height: 1;\">Preventing the Transmission of Infectious Agents</p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in; line-height: 1;\">Identification of infectious disease processes</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Identify occurrences, reservoirs, incubation periods, periods of communicability, modes of transmission, signs and symptoms, and susceptibility associated with disease process</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Recognize epidemiologically significant organisms for immediate review and investigation</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Interpret results of diagnostic/laboratory reports</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Identify indications for environmental microbiological monitoring</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Report communicable diseases to public health departments</li></ul><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Assists with implementation of infection prevention and control strategies related to controlling the transmission of infectious agents.&nbsp;</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left: 0in; line-height: 1;\">Surveillance:</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Assists with outbreak and exposure investigations</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Participates in environmental, and safety unit rounding&nbsp;</li></ul><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Reviews daily admission diagnoses and readmissions to identify potential readmissions for healthcare acquired infection.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Reviews and researches all positive laboratory culture reports to validate healthcare acquired status.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Identifies problems of surveillance findings, develops plan of approach and communicates plan appropriately to the Director of Infection Prevention.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left: 0in; line-height: 1;\">Data:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Collect data in support of epidemiological studies of specific problems or problem areas to determine the source of the problem and make appropriate recommendations</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Uses the CDC National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) infection definitions and inputs all infection data into NHSN.&nbsp;</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left: 0in; line-height: 1;\">Performance Improvement:</p><ul><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Utilizes appropriate Quality Assurance monitoring activities to address issues of potential risk of infection for patients or employees. Documents problems and implemented control measures in performance improvement projects</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left: 0in; line-height: 1;\">Management and Communication</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Assist with the planning, organizing, development and implementation of educational programs for all hospital employees including administrative and ancillary services.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Functions as hospital liaison to community agencies as well as other Health Care Providers; provides internal expertise on communicable disease issues to hospital staff</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">&nbsp;Assists with development and review of infection prevention and control policies and procedures</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left: 0.25in; line-height: 1;\">Regulatory:</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Maintain compliance with national standards and regulating bodies such as JCAHO, CMS, CDC, OSHA, etc</li></ul><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">POSITION REQUIREMENTS<br><br>Experience</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Minimum 2+ years&rsquo; experience in acute hospital care</li></ul><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Minimum of 1- 2 years of acute care infection control and epidemiology experience preferred</li></ul><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">Education/Licensure/Certification</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Possession of Associate Degree in Nursing (preferred).
