This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and plant leadership to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis. The position plays a critical role in driving cost control, operational efficiency, and informed business decision-making, and also supports month-end close, sales &amp; use tax filings, and ERP process integrity.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Cost Accounting &amp; Manufacturing Finance</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Maintain and analyze <strong>standard costs</strong> for materials, labor, and overhead; validate BOMs, routings, work centers, and cost roll-ups in the ERP.</li><li>Review and explain <strong>manufacturing variances</strong> (material usage, purchase price variances, labor efficiency, scrap, overhead absorption) and communicate drivers and corrective actions to management.</li><li>Oversee <strong>inventory accounting</strong> for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, including cycle counts, annual physical inventories, and related adjustments and reserves.</li><li>Support <strong>pricing decisions</strong>, margin analysis, and product/customer profitability reviews; prepare and track cost standards and variances at SKU and product family levels.</li><li>Partner with operations to identify <strong>cost drivers</strong> and <strong>cost reduction</strong> opportunities; participate in CI/lean initiatives and operational KPI reviews.</li><li>Assist with <strong>capital expenditure</strong> analysis, fixed asset capitalization, and depreciation related to manufacturing assets.</li></ul><p><strong>General Accounting &amp; Close</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Participate in <strong>monthly/quarterly/annual close</strong>, ensuring timely and accurate recognition of inventory, COGS, manufacturing costs, accruals, and reserves.</li><li>Prepare and review <strong>journal entries</strong>; perform <strong>balance sheet reconciliations</strong> (inventory, PPV, GR/IR, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, payroll-related accounts, cash).</li><li>Analyze P\\&amp;L and balance sheet results; prepare <strong>variance analyses</strong> and <strong>narrative commentary</strong> for management.</li><li>Support <strong>financial statement preparation</strong> in accordance with <strong>US GAAP</strong> and company policies.</li><li>Support <strong>internal and external audits</strong>, including inventory observations, roll-forwards, and cost-related audit requests.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Budgeting, Forecasting &amp; Reporting</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Support <strong>annual budgets</strong> and periodic <strong>forecasts</strong> for manufacturing costs, absorption, utilization, and productivity.</li><li>Prepare <strong>cost and operational performance reports</strong> (e.g., yield, scrap, labor efficiency, capacity/throughput, absorption).</li><li>Analyze <strong>production volume impacts</strong> on unit cost, absorption, and gross margin.</li></ul><p><strong>Systems, Controls &amp; Process Improvement</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Maintain and improve <strong>cost accounting processes</strong> and internal controls; ensure accuracy and integrity of data within the ERP and reporting systems.</li><li>Act as the <strong>accounting interface</strong> with ERP (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, Epicor, or similar) for cost, inventory, and GL design/functionality;
