GDMS is honored to assist our military and has specifically designed our internships to prepare participants for their transition to civilian life.</p>\n<p>The GDMS Military Internship program is open to all ranks, enlisted or officer, may apply. Participants are not eligible for compensation from the company, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. A GDMS Military Internship, whether entry or mid-level, is an opportunity for individuals to gain valuable civilian experience through specific industry training during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Participation in GDMS’s Military Internship Program is voluntary, Service member-initiated, and must be authorized by the individual’s chain of command prior to the start of the internship. Successful completion of all necessary company agreements and documentation will also be required.</p>\n<p>This program is being afforded to both active duty Military Members of all supporting branches and Military Spouses. You will job-shadow and learn from experienced leaders and other smart, motivated people. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports the knowledge, training, qualification, and proficiency of some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  Our employees work closely with esteemed fleet and government customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions around the world.</p>\n<p>Education: Bachelor's Degree Meets SkillBridge Qualifications as per DODI 1322.29.</p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Tasks:</strong></p>\n<p>In our highly collaborative and global environment, you’ll provide lab, onboard, and distance support and services direct to our fleet customers and our own field support team with cloud technologies. Essentially, you’ll perform research, data transfers, troubleshooting, installations, and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, fielding, troubleshooting, and repairing of Nosis and Nosis Cloud software, devices, systems, and third-party applications.  Your will perform technical activities which impact the proposal, system level design, detail design and manufacture of advanced software and cloud services systems.Objectives - Intern program participants will receive training and job-shadowing opportunities to gain skills to meet the specific needs of the organization and will be prepared to meet the GDMS mission in “providing smarter mission critical systems and products to defense, civil government, intelligence and cybersecurity customers”. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on GDMS leadership expectations, company history, customer / stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.Outcome – Offer transitioning service members a rewarding opportunity to learn from the General Dynamics Mission Systems team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</strong></p>\n<h4>What you’ll experience:</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Technologies that support the qualifications, training, proficiency, and communications for our fleet customers ensuring they are ready to perform at the highest level when duty calls.</li>\n <li>A team of bold thinkers committed to providing direct support to our customers and exploring what’s next</li>\n <li>Opportunities to grow and gain new knowledge - as it’s discovered</li>\n <li>Some Travel Required</li>\n</ul>\n<h4>What you bring to the table:</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, plus 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.</li>\n <li>Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields</li>\n <li>Proficient understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards</li>\n</ul>\n<h4>What sets you apart:</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task</li>\n <li>Commitment to ongoing professional development</li>\n <li>Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success</li>\n <li>Quick learner who can operate independently and resolve complex issues but also work well with a team to provide and take input to accomplish tasks.</li>\n <li>Cloud Computing, Support, or Administration Experience</li>\n <li>Microsoft Windows Server and/or Linux Server Administration experience.</li>\n <li>Oracle Database operation and maintenance. </li>\n <li>Previous CANES or PPLAN Network administrator experience.</li>\n <li>Must be able to complete all requirements for DoD 8570 Certification within 6 months.</li>\n <li>Must have strong organizational and analytical skills as well as practical problem-solving and decision making-skills. </li>\n <li>Ability to work well under pressure, with minimal supervision, and be able to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously. </li>\n <li>Load and update software applications as required. </li>\n <li>Operation in a shipboard Information Technology Customer support capacity. </li>\n <li>Linux, ORACLE, VMware, Hyper-V, MSSQL, Windows Server 2008 or higher. </li>\n <li>CompTIA Security + Certification.</li>\n <li>Linux + Certification or equivalent training and experience.</li>\n <li>AWS Credentials or Similar</li>\n <li>Experience with VBScript, JavaScript, Windows Scripting, WBEM, .NET, JBOSS.</li>\n <li>Experience with CANES or PPLAN Environments</li>\n <li>Use, administration, and maintenance of Nosis or STRMS Software Suites</li>\n <li>Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>NOTE:  This can be a non-office position but you would be required to work with the Fleet Support people who are usually onboard the subs / ships or in transit to one to assist them.
