The most common procedures that are performed on the patients are a Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>What You Will Do</h2>\n<p>Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.</li>\n <li>Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.</li>\n <li>Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.</li>\n <li>Responds to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.</li>\n <li>May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Need</h2>\n<p>Licensure / Certification / Registration:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.</li>\n <li>ACLS and PALS may be reguired in some units (Step Down, ED and ICU) within 6-months of date hire or transfer.</li>\n <li>Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Education:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure/certification required. 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Preferences</h2>\n<p>No additional preferences.</p>\n<h2>About UAB St. Vincent’s</h2>\n<p>UAB St. Vincent’s, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
