This position reports directly to the Fleet Manager.</p><p>Requirements</p><p> <strong>JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Perform diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers</li><li>Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment</li><li>Adhere to the manufacturer’s warranty policies and procedures</li><li>Consistently capable of independently analyzing and safely resolving problems</li><li>Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment</li><li>Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake adjustments, tire repairs, and fluid checks</li><li>Conduct detailed inspections of engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems</li><li>Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and identify necessary repairs</li><li>Perform welding, fabrication, and other mechanical tasks as required</li><li>Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and maintenance schedules</li><li>Adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies</li><li>Respond to emergency roadside service calls when needed</li><li>Stay current with new technology, tools, and repair techniques in the diesel and heavy equipment industry.</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS</strong></p><p>Indoor and Outdoor Settings for a repair shop include:</p><ul><li>Maintenance bays- can be noisy, drafty, hot, or cold depending on facility climate control</li><li>May work in an office or parts area for ordering parts, completing paperwork, or entering diagnostic data</li><li>Yard or lot maintenance areas and occasionally roadside or field work (repairing vehicles outside the shop)</li><li>Exposure to weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind) </li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects frequently; typically, 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with assistance or mechanical aids.</li><li>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.</li><li>Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and squatting to access vehicle components.</li><li>Ability to climb ladders, steps, and vehicle frames,  and work at heights using lifts or platforms.</li><li>Frequent use of hands, wrists, and arms for gripping, twisting, turning, and operating hand and power tools.</li><li>Ability to work in confined or awkward positions, including under vehicles or within engine compartments.</li><li>Sufficient manual dexterity, coordination, and fine motor skills to perform detailed mechanical repairs.</li><li>Ability to reach overhead, at waist level, and below the knees repeatedly.</li><li>Visual acuity to read gauges, diagnostic equipment, schematics, and work orders.</li><li>Able to work a mid-shift schedule with flexibility with Saturday rotation.
