Description About Us: Callen-Lorde is the global leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare. Since the days of Stonewall, we have been transforming lives in LGBTQ+ communities through excellent comprehensive care, provided free of judgment and regardless of ability to pay. In addition, we are continuously pioneering research, advocacy and education to drive positive change around the world, because we believe healthcare is a human right. Our Mission: Callen-Lorde Community Health Center provides sensitive, quality health care and related services targeted to New York’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities, in all their diversity, regardless of ability to pay. To further this mission, Callen-Lorde promotes health education and wellness, and advocates for LGBTQ+ health issues. About the Role: The Director of Therapy Administration is a senior administrative and operational leader with a strong clinical background responsible for the overall management, coordination, and performance of therapy service delivery across Callen-Lorde Community Health Center’s Behavioral Health program. Reporting to the Chief Behavioral Health Officer, this role provides centralized oversight of therapy operations across Article 28, Article 31/MHOTRS, and integrated behavioral health settings, with responsibility for patient access, staffing and coverage, productivity, workflow execution, documentation timeliness, and operational performance. This role oversees the administrative infrastructure that supports effective, efficient, and patient-centered therapy services across the department. In close collaboration with behavioral health clinical, administrative, and interdisciplinary leadership, the Director ensures therapy services are operationally sound, compliant with regulatory and documentation requirements, responsive to patient and program needs, and aligned with Callen-Lorde’s mission and model of care. The Director maintains a limited clinical caseload, as determined in collaboration with the Chief Behavioral Health Officer, to support departmental needs and maintain familiarity with clinical workflows. Key Responsibilities: Administrative Leadership & Therapy Service Operations Provide day-to-day leadership for the administrative and operational management of therapy services across behavioral health programs. Oversee therapy service delivery across Article 28, Article 31/MHOTRS, and integrated behavioral health settings, ensuring efficient, consistent, and patient-centered operations. Access, Productivity & Workflow Management Oversee patient access to therapy services, including scheduling capacity, staffing and coverage plans, caseload distribution, and continuity of care. Monitor operational performance indicators such as access, visit utilization, productivity, no-show trends, throughput, and documentation timeliness, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and accountability. Partner with operational leaders to strengthen patient flow, optimize therapy scheduling, and support timely, effective service delivery. Staff Management & Administrative Supervision Provide direct administrative supervision, coaching, and performance oversight to assigned therapy operations leaders and staff. Support workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and operational orientation for therapy operations and designated leadership roles. Foster a positive, equitable, and accountable work environment that supports strong team performance and high-quality patient-centered service. Documentation, Compliance & Operational Quality Oversee operational compliance related to therapy services, including documentation timeliness, workflow adherence, and readiness for internal and external audits and regulatory reviews. Support quality improvement initiatives, performance monitoring, and operational accountability across therapy services. Partner with leadership to identify trends, address performance gaps, and implement workflow improvements that strengthen service delivery and compliance. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with the Director of Therapist Development and other behavioral health leaders to ensure strong alignment between clinical supervision structures and therapy operations, while maintaining clear role boundaries. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary, operational, and site leadership to support coordinated, efficient, and integrated behavioral health service delivery across programs and sites. Maintain a limited clinical caseload to support departmental needs and remain familiar with therapy workflows. Work Schedule: This is a full-time position with evening hours. Benefits: Salary will be based on experience and will be accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package including an exceptional low cost medical plan option for you, your spouse/domestic partner and/or your family, dental insurance, vision insurance, no cost life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, Flexible Spending Account, Tuition Assistance, commuter benefits, a generous paid time off plan, and a 403B retirement savings plan.
