Description
The department of Chemistry is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Research Assistant. The temporary (hourly) undergraduate research assistant is to support ongoing research during the summer term. The successful candidate will engage in hands on laboratory research focused on the synthesis and characterization of luminescent transition metal and lanthanide compounds.
What You'll Do
Research Assistance: Conduct laboratory based synthesis of luminescent transition metal and lanthanide compounds Perform characterization of synthesized compounds using appropriate analytical techniques Maintain accurate laboratory records and follow established safety procedures Analyze and interpret experimental data with guidance from the supervising faculty member Research Group Communication and Collaboration Present research progress and results to members of the research group and, when appropriate, to the department Participate in regular group meetings and research discussions Pay Grade: 15
Length of Assignment: 3 Months
