    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><link href=\"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/css/froala_editor.pkgd.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\">&nbsp;<link href=\"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/css/froala_style.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"><div class=\"fr-view\"><div><div><div><div><div><p>Delaware Valley University Student Employment &ndash; Small Animal Science Center &nbsp;</p><p>We are looking for a Student Animal Care Technician to join our Small Animal Science Center Team!</p><p>Laboratory Animal Care and Husbandry Duties at the Center &nbsp;</p><p>Reporting to the Facility Manager, the hours vary and include mornings, nights, weekends, holidays and breaks (on rotation) and essential staff are required to care for animals 24/7/365 during emergencies and shutdowns. We are seeking students who would like to commit to the position beyond one semester.</p><p>Essential job responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Operation and maintenance of vivarium equipment including cage washers, floor scrubbers, and sterilization equipment&nbsp;</li><li>Receive, move, and stack animal feed, bedding, and supplies&nbsp;</li><li>May breed, wean and euthanize animals under supervision. Handle, sex and restrain animals</li><li>Perform husbandry duties including animal care, feeding, watering and cage sanitation&nbsp;</li><li>Observe all laboratory animals for abnormal/unusual behavior and report all such incidents; provide medical treatments as prescribed by veterinary staff&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain accurate health records, databases, and other required records&nbsp;</li><li>Additional duties to support the program</li><li>Participate in employee training and staff meetings&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Preferred qualifications include:</p><ul><li>ABC majors preferred with knowledge of animal care requirements, husbandry regulations and basic animal handling and disease conditions.
