There’s opportunity around every corner and the support to help you achieve your goals.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About the role:</span></p>\n<p>The Physicist contributes to research and development (R&amp;D) activities supporting the expansion and optimisation of PhotonAssay™ technology. The role focuses on executing well-defined technical workstreams, including nuclear measurement techniques, data analysis, and simulation, while contributing to the development of analytical capabilities and supporting the broader physics and product teams.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you will do:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Execution of R&amp;D Tasks and Projects</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver clearly defined technical tasks within R&amp;D projects under guidance from senior team members.</li>\n<li>Contribute to project milestones through timely and high-quality technical outputs.</li>\n<li>Maintain clear documentation of methods, assumptions, and results.</li>\n<li>Support experimental campaigns, including preparation, execution, and data capture.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nuclear Measurement and Analytical Development</span><br>Contribute to the development of new analytical capabilities, including:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supporting identification and evaluation of relevant nuclear reactions.</li>\n<li>Conducting Monte Carlo simulations (e.g. radiation transport, detector response).</li>\n<li>Assisting in the design and execution of laboratory and field experiments.</li>\n<li>Supporting detector calibration and characterisation activities.</li>\n<li>Analysing gamma-ray and neutron spectra and interpreting results. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Analysis Chain Development and Maintenance</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the development and maintenance of the PhotonAssay™ analysis chain.</li>\n<li>Assist in implementing, testing, and validating analysis algorithms and workflows.</li>\n<li>Ensure code is readable, maintainable, and follows established best practices.</li>\n<li>Identify, document, and assist in resolving defects affecting analytical performance.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Data Analysis and Interpretation</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Process and analyse experimental and operational datasets.</li>\n<li>Apply statistical and numerical techniques to extract meaningful insights.</li>\n<li>Assist in development of data pipelines and analysis tools.</li>\n<li>Support investigations into system performance and anomalies.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Technical Support and Knowledge Development</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop a strong working knowledge of PhotonAssay™ systems and underlying physics.</li>\n<li>Support internal teams with technical queries and data interpretation.</li>\n<li>Assist in troubleshooting and root-cause investigations.</li>\n<li>Contribute to radiation safety awareness and compliance activities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Documentation and Reporting</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare technical documentation, reports, and internal notes.</li>\n<li>Contribute to scientific reports, presentations, and publications where appropriate.</li>\n<li>Ensure reproducibility and traceability of technical work</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who you are:</span></p>\n<p><em>Essential</em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A tertiary qualification in physics or a closely related discipline.</li>\n<li>1-5 years’ experience in a relevant technical or research environment (or postgraduate study).</li>\n<li>Experience with scientific programming and data analysis (e.g. Python, MATLAB, or similar).</li>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently on well-defined tasks and as part of a multidisciplinary team.</li>\n<li>Effective written and verbal communication skills, particularly for technical content </li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Desirable</em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in one or more of the following areas:\n<ul>\n<li>Nuclear physics</li>\n<li>Gamma-ray or neutron spectroscopy</li>\n<li>Radiation detection and instrumentation</li>\n<li>Activation analysis or related techniques</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Experience with:\n<ul>\n<li>Monte Carlo simulation (e.g. MCNP, EGS or similar)</li>\n<li>Signal processing and spectral analysis</li>\n<li>Experimental design and laboratory work</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Familiarity with:\n<ul>\n<li>Statistical data analysis and uncertainty quantification</li>\n<li>Scientific software development practices</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Willingness to travel to operational or remote sites if required. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who we are (Our values):</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Safety is a Non-Negotiable</span> - Safety isn’t just a value — it’s our way of life.
