Kitchen Help will assist in preparing and serving/plating the food by performing the following duties and responsibilities below.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Assist the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping, peeling, and slicing ingredients.</li>\n<li>Washes, peels, and cuts various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, meats or other meal prep.</li>\n<li>Dices and cuts food necessary for preparation of sauces, soups, gravies and stews.</li>\n<li>Set up work stations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.</li>\n<li>Prepare simple dishes such as salads and entrees.</li>\n<li>Labels and stocks all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.</li>\n<li>Maintains contact with the Butcher for the qualify and freshness of products.</li>\n<li>Assists Cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed; and provides cooks with needed items.</li>\n<li>Carry food supplies, equipment and utensils to and from storage and work areas.</li>\n<li>Helps prepare and carve all meats for buffet and Banquet lines.</li>\n<li>Prepares all the set-up requirements for daily menu and specials.</li>\n<li>Prepares pizza with toppings.</li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check and drug test.</li>\n <li>Must possess a California Food Handler Card.</li>\n <li>Must be at least 21 years of age.</li>\n <li>Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers.</li>\n <li>Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.</li>\n <li>Available for full time work including weekends and evening scheduling; and ready for all programs and activities. Able to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.</li>\n <li>Able to communicate clearly with team members.</li>\n <li>Requires ability to multi-task effectively.</li>\n <li>Able to work independently</li>\n <li>Able to work within a team environment</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education / Experience:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>No specific education required. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.</li>\n <li>One-two years’ experience in kitchen of comparable quality preferred but not required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical and Mental Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 50 lbs.</li>\n <li>Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>EEO Statement</h2>Parkwest Casino is an equal opportunity employer.
