    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>This position is a 1.0 FTE located at the Grace Hopper Pathways. &nbsp;This position serves as the Program for Employment<br>\n Preparedness (PEP) Teacher.</p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>\n Foster partnerships and ensure continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them<br>\n informed of student(s) progress.<br>\n Plan and implement appropriate instructional and/or learning strategies and activities, including determination of<br>\n appropriate kind and level of materials, provide appropriate learning experiences, manage allotted learning time to<br>\n maximize student achievement, and utilize a variety of instructional materials and available multi-media and<br>\n computer technology to enhance learning.<br>\n Assist students and families in the transition process for PEP, including attending transition IEP meetings and<br>\n collaborating with base school Transition Coordinators for referrals.<br>\n Other duties as assigned.<br>\n EXPERIENCE:<br>\n Experience teaching high school students with special needs.<br>\n Knowledge of best instructional practices.<br>\n Ability to integrate technology.<br>\n QUALIFICATIONS:<br>\n Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.<br>\n Special Education endorsement.<br>\n Excellent public speaking skills.<br>\n Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting.<br>\n Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is<br>\n preferred but not required</p>\n<p>Salary Based on 26/27 Pay Plan&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Arlington Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer<br>\n It is the policy of the Arlington School Board, as stated in Policy G-2.30, Employee Relations – Equal Employment<br>\n Opportunity - that “Employment opportunities shall not be restricted, abridged or otherwise adversely affected on<br>\n the basis of race, national origin, creed, color, religion, gender, age, economic status, sexual orientation, national<br>\n origin, marital status, genetic information, gender identity or expression, and/or disability.”</p>",
