    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><strong id=\"isPasted\">📢 Student Tutor Opportunity!&nbsp;</strong><strong>📢</strong></p><p>The Kern Literacy Council is seeking student workers who are self-motivated and dependable.&nbsp;</p><p id=\"isPasted\">SUMMARY: &nbsp;The Tutor is responsible for assisting students in improving academic achievement through mentoring student success.</p><p>The Tutor must uphold the philosophy and mission of the University while instilling positive and progressive attitude in all employees.</p><p>JOB REQUIREMENTS include but are not limited to the following: &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>COMPLIANCE:&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Responsible for compliance with all local, state, accreditation and federal regulations</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Ensure and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Responsible for complete and accurate timekeeping.</p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Conduct all duties and responsibilities ethically and professionally;</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Serve as a role model to students, both in attitude and professionalism.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Guide and promote student interaction with library resources.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Assist students in developing positive attitudes toward learning and promote study skills.</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Aid in the review of class material, discussion of text, formulate ideas for papers, and work on solutions to problems.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Establish and maintain rapport with the students.</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Maintain the tutor log.</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Tutoring will be assigned according to student demand, and availability of hours.</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Flexible schedule term by term to meet the needs of the student body.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Additional duties as assigned.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: &nbsp;</p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. &nbsp;The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. &nbsp;Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Must be a California Aeronautical University student with a minimum of 12 completed units.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Must possess and maintain a cumulative CAU GPA of 2.5 or greater and maintain a 2.5 term GPA during the entire employment period. Failure to meet these academic requirements may result in immediate termination.</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Must maintain a full time course load.&nbsp;</p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Must be in good judicial standing and maintain this standing throughout employment. Failure to do so may result in immediate termination.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:</p><p>An A or B grade in the course(s) to be tutored and instructor recommendation.&nbsp;</p><p>LANGUAGE SKILLS:</p><p>Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.</p><p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:</p><p>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. &nbsp;Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.&nbsp;</p><p>REASONING ABILITY:</p><p>Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision making.</p><p>OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:</p><p>Experience in communicating with all socio-economic levels.
