As a leader in children’s health, we engage in meaningful programs and partnerships throughout the region so that we can improve the lives of children beyond the walls of our hospital.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Child Neurologist - Topeka</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Division of Child Neurology at Children’s Mercy Kansas City is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Child Neurologist to join a pediatric neurologist in Topeka, KS. The duties of the position are primarily clinical.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The patient population is diverse in this busy practice, which draws from a large region in Kansas. Our physicians also participate in outreach clinics in two surrounding Kansas cities. Inpatient care at one hospital in Topeka is managed by hospitalists, with the neurologists serving as consultants.</p>\n<p>Teleconferencing allows for participation in Children’s Mercy educational activities and conferences. Colleagues in Kansas City are accessible for professional discussions and consultation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Division of Neurology at Children’s Mercy includes 21 Child Neurologists, 14 nurse practitioners,  nurse practitioners, social workers, and nursing staff. Teaching opportunities through the Pediatrics Residency, Child Neurology residency, Epilepsy, Headache and Neuropsychology fellowships.</p>\n<p>Facts about Children’s Mercy Division of Neurology:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Level IV comprehensive pediatric epilepsy center with eight pediatric epileptologists, four pediatric neurosurgeons, ROSA sEEG capabilities and eight-bed EMU</li>\n <li>One of the largest ketogenic diet programs in the country</li>\n <li>Active VNS program</li>\n <li>Comprehensive Headache program, including a headache relief clinic where treatment is tailored to each patient using novel approaches such as acupuncture, biofeedback and in-clinic DHE infusions</li>\n <li>The only exclusively pediatric Tourette Center of Excellence, designated by the Tourette Association of America</li>\n <li>Very successful pediatric DBS program within our growing movement disorder program</li>\n <li>Numerous subspecialty multidisciplinary programs, including: neonatal neurology, pediatric stroke, neuro-immunology, TS/NF, and spasticity to name a few</li>\n <li>Research collaborations with our Genomic Medicine Center and the Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutic Innovation</li>\n <li>Robust pediatric resident and fellowship programs, including a child neurology residency, clinical neurophysiology fellowship and headache fellowship</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Children’s Mercy Topeka at Stormont Vail Health offers area families world-class pediatric specialty care in a child-friendly environment. Our dedicated clinic space, located near Stormont Vail Health, offers full-time pediatric subspecialty clinics including cardiology, endocrinology/diabetes and neurology. These services are part of our commitment to provide all area families with high-quality pediatric specialty care.
