Description

The YMCA of Greater New York is here for all New Yorkers — to empower youth, improve health, and strengthen community. Founded in 1852, today the Y serves a diverse population of more than half a million New Yorkers who learn, grow, and thrive through programs and services at our 24 branches. Community is the cornerstone of the Y. Together, we connect active, engaged New Yorkers to build stronger communities. To help fulfill our mission, we cultivate a culture of learning, leading, and collaboration to enhance community impact. Through our talented staff and “LEAP” career framework (Leadership, Empowerment, Accountability, Personal Growth), we are committed to a people-first approach that fosters trust, inclusion, growth, and development for all. The YMCA of Greater New York Association Office is seeking a Senior Data Analyst who will support the Research, Evaluation Strategy (RES) and the Center for Community Impact (CCI) departments with data management and reporting across the YMCA of Greater New York. As an expert in impact measurement and reporting, the Senior Data Analyst plays a critical role in advancing data-informed decision-making across the YMCA of Greater New York. They will lead organizational KPI tracking, oversee data infrastructure, including Tableau and external data integrations, and deliver high-quality insights that drive strategy, operational excellence, and community impact. This role requires developing a deep understanding of YMCA programs, mission, and strategic priorities, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders. This work will require excellent analytical skills to support the establishment of baseline metrics, long-term development, and monitoring of impact and accountability measures. The Senior Data Analyst works in an analytical capacity and is required to have a thorough understanding of YMCA of Greater New York’s strategic objectives, operational portfolio, and community impact, with a strong emphasis on analytical rigor, accuracy, timeliness, and completion. Key Responsibilities: Organizational Performance KPI Management Lead the development, tracking, and reporting of organizational and branch-level KPIs to monitor progress toward strategic goals. Manage Strategic Plan KPIs, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and clear visibility into performance. Develop standardized reporting frameworks to ensure timely, complete, and accurate performance monitoring across departments. Annual Reporting Impact Storytelling Lead the Annual Statistics process, including data collection, validation, analysis, and enterprise-wide reporting. Produce the YMCA’s Annual Community Benefit Impact reports, synthesizing program, financial, and impact data into a compelling narrative that demonstrates organizational impact across New York City. Data Analytics Insight Generation Conduct advanced analyses across programmatic, operational, and external datasets to generate actionable insights. Integrate external datasets (e.g., Census and demographic data) with internal YMCA data to provide deeper, community-level insights. Deliver ad hoc analyses with a high standard of rigor, clarity, and timeliness to support executive decision-making. Tableau Ecosystem Leadership Manage and maintain the Tableau environment, including user access, governance, and usage standards. Oversee external consultants supporting Tableau development and maintenance. Lead Tableau workbook creation, dashboard development, and ongoing optimization. Facilitate gathering of user requirements, outlining business needs, and translating them into technical solutions. Executing on design with rigorous quality assurance testing. Design and deliver Tableau training to build organizational data capacity. Swim Skill Tracker Management Support data uploads and troubleshooting for the swim tracker application, including monitoring data integrity and assisting with user feedback. Manage the YMCA Swim Tracker application, including vendor coordination, feature enhancements, and system performance monitoring. Provide analytics on attendance, skill progression, and program outcomes within Swim Tracker. Develop dashboards and reporting tools to enhance understanding and utilization of Swim Tracker data. Partner with technical teams or vendors to improve data capture, reporting, and usability of program-related systems. Data Governance Quality Assurance Ensure integrity, accuracy, and consistency of data across systems through robust quality assurance processes.
