Description
We are seeking a Superintendent (Field Manager) to join our team! You will perform functions to control the field activities and the subcontractors to deliver the project on time, on budget, and per the plans and specifications, while maintaining an intense focus on safety. You will collaborate with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and Project Coordinator to ensure each project runs smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor the work and progress of subcontractors to ensure contract compliance, quality, and adherence to the project schedule Oversee job site safety & compliance with OSHA regulations Manage new site visitor safety training for subcontractors Maintain records of subcontractors’ toolbox talks Provide and work with an effective 6-week look ahead schedule, weekly Update owner’s schedule bi-weekly Plan and run the weekly foreman meetings, collaborating between the office and the subcontractors Liaison between the project owner, the office, the subcontractors, material suppliers, and inspectors Complete daily field reports for each day of work on the project, taking regular job photos Review, verify, stamp, and log time and material labor tickets Initiate chargebacks as appropriate Update As-Built drawings in red as variances occur and notify the office Direct close out and punch list activities as necessary to ensure complete customer satisfaction Log lessons learned as they occur during the construction of the project Oversee site conditions to maintain general organization and cleanliness for the project Other duties as assigned Requirements:
7+ years of experience in superintendent role in commercial and/or industrial construction Degree in engineering or construction management preferred Experience managing work crews, equipment utilization, material purchases, and subcontractors Ability to read, understand, and interpret contracts, scope of work, drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications Valid driver’s license and clean driving record 100% travel, ability to go home once per month Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project Experience utilizing construction management software; Sage Project Center is preferred Waste industry and design-build experience is preferred Competencies:

Able to overcome problems by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach Building Common Purpose : Works with colleagues and suppliers to achieve common goals by involving stakeholders to define problems or opportunities, identifying common issues and opportunities and creating win/win relationships. Makes sure the team or group goals align with those of the organization. Communication : The ability to give and gather information and actively manage the communication process by asking questions, conveying complex information in plain language, listening and considering others’ views, state own views clearly and concisely, and address conflict in a professional and productive manner. Planning and Organizing : Plans and organizes tasks and work responsibilities to achieve objectives; sets priorities and schedules activities; allocates and uses resources properly. Problem Solving : Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations. Able to think clearly and rationally, solve problems systematically, and make right decisions quickly.
