    "requisitionDescription": "<p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Position: Events Supervisor &ndash; Full Time</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial,sans-serif;\">Reports to:</span>&nbsp;</strong>Manager of Corporate &amp; Special Events&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<strong>Facility:&nbsp;</strong>Ripley&rsquo;s Aquarium of Canada</p><p><strong>Job Purpose:&nbsp;</strong>Reporting to the Manager of Corporate &amp; Special Events, the Events Supervisor is responsible for the sales, development and coordination of corporate events as well as assisting with the planning and execution of special events and programming as assigned. The Events Supervisor will foster and grow relationships with clients, catering &amp; event service vendors, and industry partners.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Please remember that due to the nature of our business, we work&nbsp;when&nbsp;others&nbsp;play&nbsp;in&nbsp;an&nbsp;attraction&nbsp;that&nbsp;is&nbsp;open&nbsp;365&nbsp;days&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;year! You&nbsp;will&nbsp;be&nbsp;expected&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;regularly available to work any shift before, during, or after these hours of operation.&nbsp;</strong><em>Please note that the successful applicant must be able to work weekends, evenings and overnights as required.</em></p><h1><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: arial, sans-serif;\">Critical Accountabilities:</span></h1><ul><li>Respond to all corporate event inquiries and birthday party inquiries as needed, facilitate site visits, capture sales, negotiate contracts and&nbsp;process&nbsp;all&nbsp;payments,&nbsp;including&nbsp;invoicing&nbsp;and&nbsp;reconciling&nbsp;after&nbsp;the event.</li><li>The Event Supervisor is&nbsp;the&nbsp;main&nbsp;venue&nbsp;contact for&nbsp;all&nbsp;vendors.&nbsp;This&nbsp;includes, but&nbsp;is not limited to: catering, AV, rentals, furniture and any other vendors required for the event.</li><li>Responsible&nbsp;for&nbsp;coordinating&nbsp;delivery schedules, checking&nbsp;rental&nbsp;orders&nbsp;and&nbsp;building&nbsp;logistics&nbsp;for&nbsp;events from booking stage to post event.</li><li>The Event Supervisor will be communicating with clients on various platforms, and will be responsible for hosting venue visits to upsell events.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong ability to market and sell event listings and services for corporate events.&nbsp;</li><li>Responsible&nbsp;for&nbsp;achieving&nbsp;Corporate&nbsp;Event sales targets and&nbsp;revenue goals as&nbsp;assigned,&nbsp;generating revenue through external event bookings and internal events programming</li><li>Create&nbsp;and&nbsp;distribute&nbsp;Event&nbsp;SEO &amp;&nbsp;details&nbsp;to all pertinent internal and&nbsp;external&nbsp;staff&nbsp;ensuring&nbsp;consistent communication of event requirements and onsite activations.</li><li>Assist with the&nbsp;development,&nbsp;implementation, coordination&nbsp;and&nbsp;execution&nbsp;of&nbsp;original programming&nbsp;as assigned. Some tasks might include monitoring events, equipment inventory and assisting with onsite coordination, may be required to assist the birthday coordinator when needed.</li><li>Represent Ripley&rsquo;s Aquarium of Canada at both internal and external events as required.</li><li>Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on operational needs.&nbsp;</li></ul><h1><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Special Skills and Requirements:</span></h1><ul><li>Diploma/Degree in event management is an asset.</li><li>Minimum of 2 years equivalent special events experience in either venue/event sales, catering or events supervisor role.</li><li>Previous experience in a multi-use event venue, attractions-based event venue, hotel or premium event space.&nbsp;</li><li>Certification for Smart Service strongly recommended.&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent guest service and communication skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask.&nbsp;</li><li>Must&nbsp;enjoy&nbsp;working&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;dynamic,&nbsp;fast-paced&nbsp;team&nbsp;environment</li><li>Proven&nbsp;ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;problem solve,&nbsp;think&nbsp;critically&nbsp;and&nbsp;take initiative.</li><li>Must be able to work overnights shifts for major events including Christmas Installation, depending on the task or season.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work late night hours for events set up and strikes.&nbsp;</li><li>Proficiency&nbsp;with&nbsp;Microsoft&nbsp;Suite, and&nbsp;experience&nbsp;with&nbsp;Siriusware and&nbsp;CRM systems considered an asset.</li><li>Driver&#39;s License is an asset.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Pay Rate:</strong>&nbsp;$48,000-$52,000/annually&nbsp;</p><p><em>Ripley&#39;s Aquarium of Canada is dedicated to providing an atmosphere free from barriers in order to promote equity and diversity and will ensure the full participation and advancement of members of protected groups, which include but are not limited to women, Indigenous persons, members of visible minority groups, LGBTQ2S+ individuals, and persons with disabilities.
