Description
JOB SUMMARY
As a Supervisor , Manufacturing at Marki Microwave, you will own the day-to-day execution of production operations for your line in a fast-paced, low-volume, high-mix RF and microwave electronics manufacturing environment. You will directly supervise a skilled team of operators, driving output, quality, on-time delivery, and safety while building a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will serve as the operational backbone of your production line, assigning work, removing obstacles, developing your people, and partnering cross-functionally to keep production moving. This role requires a hands-on leader with direct experience in RF electronics or component manufacturing and a genuine commitment to team development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise and coordinate daily production activities to maximize output, efficiency, and on-time delivery across your assigned line. Assign tasks to leads and operators, provide real-time oversight, and verify work quality against established standards and work instructions. Own manufacturing non-conformances (NCRs) within your production line. Investigate, document, and drive corrective actions to closure. Maintain production metrics including safety, quality, productivity, and OTD; report results to leadership and take action on gaps. Prepare daily and weekly work schedules; balance workload and resources to meet production plans and respond to shifting priorities. Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety procedures, conducting regular safety reviews, and promptly addressing hazards or incidents. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve training materials, competency checklists, and training records to upskill operators and technicians. Coach and mentor team members on technical skills, soft skills, and professional growth; deliver timely and constructive performance feedback. Conduct formal performance reviews; recognize strong performance, address discipline issues, and escalate to HR as appropriate. Support recruiting, onboarding, and integration of new team members. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, Engineering, and Quality to resolve production issues, address capacity constraints, and meet overall goals. Monitor and manage labor resources including overtime authorization and time-off requests through the electronic timekeeping system. Support the introduction of new products into your production line by coordinating resources, reviewing work instructions, and communicating readiness needs to Engineering. Identify and escalate process improvement opportunities; participate in Lean and Kaizen activities and implement solutions within your line. Establish and maintain documented procedures and work standards within your functional group. Maintain 5S standards and promote a disciplined, organized work environment. Champion an ethics-based, continuous improvement culture across your team.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field preferred. 5+ years of experience in an electronics and/or mechanical manufacturing environment. 3+ years of direct supervisory experience in a production environment; experience with low-volume, high-mix or complex mixed-mode production is strongly preferred. Hands-on experience with surface mount assembly, connectorized module assembly, and/or wire-bondable die handling is a strong plus. Familiarity with RF, microwave, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing is preferred. Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality management systems is a plus. ITAR awareness and experience working in a controlled manufacturing environment is a plus.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to build and maintain production tracking spreadsheets. Experience with an ERP or MES system required; Sage 100 or Siemens MES experience is a plus. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly work instructions, test procedures, and process documentation. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, standard work, visual management, waste reduction); Six Sigma exposure is a plus. Familiar with quality tools including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), and basic statistical methods. Strong understanding of ESD controls and handling requirements in an electronics assembly environment. Applies production math skills including yield calculations, capacity utilization, and efficiency metrics. Strong written and oral communication skills; able to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization. Highly organized with demonstrated time management and task prioritization skills in a dynamic production environment. Detail-oriented and able to thrive under pressure; able to manage multiple priorities without losing accuracy or composure. Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; able to maintain positive working relationships across teams and functions. Process-oriented mindset with the drive to improve systems, documentation, and workflows on an ongoing basis
