For more than 25 years, the center has provided expert guidance and advanced services for complex conditions such as multiples, maternal age, diabetes, hypertension, and infertility-related pregnancies. With locations in Knoxville, Morristown, and Sevierville, the team is dedicated to helping families make informed decisions and ensuring the safest possible outcomes for mothers and babies.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>Under general supervision, performs basic nursing procedures on patients. Assists physicians or practitioner with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, Quality Assessment program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.</li>\n <li> Performs basic nursing procedures such as weighing patients, taking vital signs and listening to fetal heart tones. Performs venipunctures, blood sugars, and other lab procedures as indicated.</li>\n <li> Retrieves initial basic evaluation of patient and reports to appropriate practitioner.</li>\n <li> Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families during visit; demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy.</li>\n <li> Assists physicians or practitioner with examinations, various OB/GYN procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.</li>\n <li> Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and necessary equipment.</li>\n <li> Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient's medical records. Maintains all required reports, statistics, etc. Assists with filling out lab requests and filing lab results in patient's chart.</li>\n <li> Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and standards and takes corrective action when appropriate.</li>\n <li> Assists with cleaning instruments and cleaning and re-stocking examination rooms on a daily basis. Transports instruments to sterile processing as needed.</li>\n <li> Obtains informed consent after procedure has been explained to patient.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to age-specific needs of the population served.</li>\n <li> Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.</li>\n <li> Attends meetings as required.</li>\n <li> Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Education</strong>            </p>\n<p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Experience</strong>           </p>\n<p>One (1) year related experience required, or new graduate with less than (1) year experience.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Licensure Requirement</strong>        </p>\n<p>Certified Medical Assistant required. CPR required.</p>",
