Job Overview
Industrial Electrician performs installation, alteration, maintenance or service of electrical systems in complex three phase industrial operations. Assists, completes, and/or leads crews responsible for performing a broad range of electrical tasks in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC) standards and electrical trade practices.

$47,507 - $90,646
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate would have a Journeyman Electrical license issued in the State of Florida and prior experience in field working with voltages ranging from 12V DC to 13.8kV and demonstrate the best practices and procedures that support the duties, responsibilities and skill sets required of an Industrial Electrician. The position deals with water, wastewater, reclaimed water treatment, pump/lift station equipment and small systems such as, but not limited to the following: Switchgears, MCC’s, PLC’s, VFD’s, DSB’s, Lighting/Power Panels, UPS’s, Natural Gas Turbine Generators and Motors ranging from ¼ - 1750HP.
The candidate will be able to troubleshoot, field or bench, any of the above listed equipment as well as perform preventative maintenance, repairs, or replacements. The candidate will need to be able to utilize the following tools and technologies; process multi-meters, megohmmeters, clamp-on ammeters, phase rotation testers, infrared cameras, calculators, shovels, hand tools, etc.
Candidates will be willing to work overtime as needed, must understand that participation in a 24/7 afterhours standby rotation program and disaster recovery is required after successful completion of probation. Candidates should possess basic computer skills with standard software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. and knowledge of a computer operated work management system; equipment in relation to the Water, Wastewater, and Reclaim industry.

Assists in and/or completes installation, maintenance, or repair of Industrial Electrical Systems rated up to 600 volts or more depending on functional working level. Recommends electrical system requirements for facilities and conducts technical inspections on new installations of electrical systems, modifications of existing equipment, motors, and related electrically operated apparatus. Determines routing, location and method of installing industrial wiring, conduit, equipment, fixtures, and accessories from complex industrial drawings, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, blueprints, and sketches. Tests, calibrates, and programs breaker trip settings and functions. Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots operations of PLC systems. Performs scheduled inspections and reviews of all electrical panels, performs proper preventative maintenance on all associated electrical equipment, and upgrades electrical equipment. Identifies and documents all electrical enclosures and equipment within facilities and maintains accurate labeling in all panels, motor control centers (MCC’s), junction boxes, and switch gear. Ensures electrical safety of all associates and that equipment is in proper working order. Installs proper safety signage and locks on or near all electrical equipment that is not in working order. Prepares work schedules and coordinates maintenance schedules with integrated teams as well as prepare technical reports of electrical operational issues. Performs the calculations involved in the operation of sizing Industrial Electrical Services, Transformers, UPS Units, Panels, Breakers, Box and Conduit Fill and Wire Sizes. May also oversee and consult with outside electrical and construction contractors to assure compliance within NEC and Hillsborough County specifications, rules, policies, and regulations. The position deals with water, wastewater, reclaimed water treatment, pump/lift station equipment and small systems such as, but not limited to the following: Switchgears, MCC’s, PLC’s, VFD’s, DSB’s, Lighting/Power Panels, UPS’s, Natural Gas Turbine Generators and Motors ranging from ¼ - 1750HP.</span></p><p><span>The candidate will be able to troubleshoot, field or bench, any of the above listed equipment as well as perform preventative maintenance, repairs, or replacements. The candidate will need to be able to utilize the following tools and technologies; process multi-meters, megohmmeters, clamp-on ammeters, phase rotation testers, infrared cameras, calculators, shovels, hand tools, etc.</span></p><p><span>Candidates will be willing to work overtime as needed, must understand that participation in a 24/7 afterhours standby rotation program and disaster recovery is required after successful completion of probation.
