Description

1. Basic Information . Position Name: Maintenance Operator (Applies for GMB Electronic-Electric, GMB Mechanic-Hydraulic, Mechanical and Electrical Shifter, Cranes Electrical and Mechanical BMG, Utilities and Services BMG, SHOP Mechanic-Hydraulic, SHOP Welder, Mobile Equipment Mechanic BMG and Maintenance Apprentice) . Department: Industrial - Maintenance 2. Main Objectives & Tasks Objectives Tasks General Follow practices and procedures established for their job. Responsible to properly operate and maintain equipment and tools related to job role. Responsible for meeting the safety standards of his department including the use of personal protective equipment for different job tasks according to the company policies and practices. Housekeeping according to the Area Plan and after any performed job. Works within the Quality System. Required to attend company training, safety and technical programs, when scheduled. Complying with roles, responsibilities and provisions of one’s job description. Perform all types of maintenance and repairs associated with their profession or specialty. (Mechanical, Electrical, Welding, Hydraulic, Cranes, Mobil Equipment, Apprentice, etc.). Perform inspection and activities regarding overall Plant Maintenance Asset Conservation. Communicate detailed and accurate data regarding delays and failures. Able to read blueprints, sketches, tables and schematics. Give supports to the reliability technical groups in all areas when opportunity and priorities are completed. Support contract vendors with assign duties to complete outside work assignments. Assure the necessary resources (spare parts, materials, labor, mobile equipment and construction machinery) and the implementation of services need it to perform work assignments. Execute required maintenance duties to maintain shift operations without supervision on off shifts. Give a feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor or Leaders about operations, incidents, safety, and important follow up activities. Ensures work order generation for every delay and maintenance emergency tasks or non-scheduled jobs in their shift. Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned. Executes the Control of Change Management Policy when applies. Specific for GMB Electronic-Electric Responsible for the execution of preventive and predictive maintenance, in terms of quantity and opportunity, supporting the monitoring and control of maintenance plans in order to maintain equipment standards of conservation and improvement and support with corrective maintenance on the important failures on the plant. Use SAP System and Sphera System to keep critical spares at storeroom. Continuously seek improvement in processes, techniques and safety. Troubleshoot and Maintain all Electric, Electronic, Instrumentation and Automation equipment in the Plant, supporting also the Electrical part of Cranes, Mobil equipment, Utilities, Building, lighting, etc. Be the responsible (together with the GMB Electric Leader) to make the Calibration Equipment Work Orders according TIMEs Schedule and Procedures. Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned. Specific for GMB Mechanic-Hydraulic Responsible for the execution of preventive and predictive maintenance, in terms of quantity and opportunity, supporting the monitoring and control of maintenance plans in order to maintain equipment standards of conservation and improvement and support with corrective maintenance on the important failures on the plant. Use SAP System and Sphera System to keep critical spares at storeroom. Continuously seek improvement in processes, techniques and safety. Troubleshoot and Maintain all Mechanic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Structural equipment in the Plant, supporting also the Mechanical part of Cranes, Mobil equipment, Utilities, Building, etc. Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned. Specific for Mechanical Shifter Responsible for executing all the corrective maintenance to keep equipment utilization at maximum capacity for production plans. Support with preventive work orders schedule on shift. Troubleshoot and Maintain all Mechanic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Structural equipment in the Plant, including the Mechanical part of Cranes, Mobil equipment, Utilities, Building, etc. Lubricates equipment, fill hydraulic reservoirs and gearboxes and take oil samples in accordance with SAP generated lubrication work orders. Maintains cleanliness of equipment by wiping down oil leaks and replacing oil absorbent material. Manages operators assigned to assist with lubrication during maintenance shutdowns. Develops new, updates and modifies existing lubrication routes. Develops corrective maintenance work orders for lubrication activities and machine abnormalities. Sets up and maintains stocking of the lubrication area by organizing, labeling lubricants and lubrication equipment. Develops working relationships with vendor equipment suppliers and lubrication manufacturers to investigate lubrication issues, recommendations and technologies. Maintain all critical assemblies for the lines at Shreveport plant. (Pot Gear, Temper Mill chocks, Tension-leveler cassettes, squeegee roll chocks, blades, air knives, baffles, etc). Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned. Specific for Electrical Shifter Responsible for executing all the corrective maintenance to keep equipment utilization at maximum capacity for production plans. Support with preventive work orders schedule on shift. Troubleshoot and Maintain all Electric, Electronic, Instrumentation and Automation equipment in the Plant, including the Electrical part of Cranes, Mobil equipment, Utilities, Building, lighting, etc. Support GMB’s as need it, to make the Calibration Equipment Work Orders according TIMEs Schedule and Procedures. Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned. Specific for Cranes Technician Responsible for the Mechanical Reliability of the Overhead Cranes and Hoists. Attend morning meetings to discuss and resolve Overhead Crane issues. Assist Overhead Crane Contractors when necessary of problems at all hours, also including on-call availability on scheduled weekends and some nights when needed. Develop appropriate PMs and SOPs for Crane equipment. Perform daily checks to ensure Overhead Crane equipment reliability. Continuously seek improvement in processes, techniques and safety. Have enough skills to support for replace a Drive or PLC (download parameters) with assistance. Support to perform the calibration in any Temperature, Flow, Pressure, Speed, Voltage, Current, Distance or other Critical Overhead Crane Electronic device. Use SAP System and Sphera System to keep critical spares at storeroom. Read and Keep Mechanical Diagrams and manual descriptions for Overhead Crane and Hoists equipment. Participate in “Root Cause Analysis” and ABC meetings to determine and rectify problematic issues in the Critical Overhead Cranes. Coordinate effective repairs and maintenance on facility crane equipment utilizing SAP System. Responsible for daily and regulatory Crane inspections as well as periodic load testing of each Crane in the Plant. Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned. Use SAP System and Sphera System to keep critical spares at storeroom. Make End of the Month Services Meter Readings and Keep all Records for Historical Trendings. Continuously seek improvement in processes, techniques and safety. Troubleshoot and Maintain all Electric, Electronic, Mechanic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Structural Utilities and Services equipment in the Plant, supporting also the Maintenance part of Cranes, Mobil equipment, etc. Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned. Specific for SHOP Mechanic-Hydraulic Troubleshoot and Maintain all Lubrication Systems, Hydraulic Units, Pneumatic and Structural Lubrication equipment in the Plant, including the support on Mechanical Lubrication of Cranes, Mobil equipment, Utilities, Building, etc. Lubricates equipment, fill hydraulic reservoirs and gearboxes and take oil samples in accordance with SAP generated lubrication work orders. Keep the Administration Control of the Spares required to assembly the Pot Area Gears in coordination with the MCL Technical Assistance and perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned. Specific for Mobile Equipment Mechanic BMG Responsible for the execution of preventive and predictive maintenance of all Mobile Equipment on Ternium Shreveport Plant, in terms of quantity and opportunity, supporting the monitoring and control of maintenance plans in order to maintain equipment standards of conservation and improvement and support with corrective maintenance on the important failures on the Mobile Equipment. Use SAP System and Sphera System to keep critical spares at storeroom. Continuously seek improvement in processes, techniques and safety. Specific for Maintenance Apprentice Work under the guidance of a Supervisor to perform and complete the assigned duties in timely manner. Follow applicable safety procedures and company policies. Always work with Safety and use the PPE and SPPE where applies. Perform Shadow training with every different Area of Maintenance to learn the Electric, Mechanic, Cranes, Utilities, Services and Mobile Equipment as well the Operative Production lines to be able to apply to a Maintenance vacancy at the end of his/her Apprentice Period. Ensure a high level of quality of work and follow applicable work instructions. Organizing and setting up the respective tools, equipment and needed supplies before executing the assigned helper/ apprentice work orders. Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized. Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned. 3.
