Responsible for examining and treating chronic and acute episodic illnesses, minor injuries, accidents, and other injuries/illnesses. Performs selected laboratory testing, referrals to physicians as needed, writes prescriptions, and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span>The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the </span><a href=\"http://www.colusa-nsn.gov/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community</span></a><span> Council</span><span>.</span><br></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><span>ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Evaluates and treats clinic patients of all ages by interviewing and performing physical exams including obtaining, updating and studying medical histories.<strong></strong></li>\n<li>Performs physical examinations (Well-women, Sports-physicals, etc.)<strong></strong></li>\n<li>Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.</li>\n<li>Administers injections and oral medications. Sutures wounds, orders appropriate castings and DME and applies when necessary. <span> </span></li>\n<li>Consult appropriately with physicians and other health professionals regarding patient status. Ensure that supervising physician is kept informed of any unusual or significant findings concerning their patients.</li>\n<li>Assists with the coordination of health promotional activities to our tribal community. <strong></strong></li>\n<li>Performs pre-employment physicals and orders appropriate employee health vaccinations. <strong></strong></li>\n<li>Examines staff after on-the-job accidents or injuries.<strong></strong></li>\n<li>Acts as a resource person for decisions, planning, and policies affecting the health clinic and staff. <strong></strong></li>\n<li>Compiles necessary reports when required for insurance authorizations. <strong></strong></li>\n<li>Provides patient education and counsels patients and families.<strong></strong></li>\n<li>Refer patients for specialty care when necessary. <strong></strong></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>May be required to serve as a member of committees dealing with organizations health care services. <strong></strong></li>\n<li>Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies. <strong></strong></li>\n<li>Complies with clinic policy and procedures. <strong></strong></li>\n<li>Participates in clinic provider meetings. <strong></strong></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintains high confidentiality standards at all times.<span>  </span>Is required to sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment.<strong></strong></li>\n<li>May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: none\"> </span></strong><strong><span>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</span></strong></p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: none\"> </span></strong><strong><span>Education:</span></strong><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><span>Experience</span></strong><span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous experience managing patients in an outpatient clinic is desired.</li>\n<li>One (1) year experience working in a fast-paced clinic setting.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Licensing:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Must have current FNP/PA license in the state of California.</span></li>\n<li><span>Current BLS Certification </span></li>\n<li><span>Valid DEA license</span></li>\n<li><span>National Provider Identification (NPI) number </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: none\"> </span></strong><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Able to lift one hundred (100) pounds, if necessary to assist patient.</li>\n<li>Must be able to work in a busy environment and to lift a minimum of thirty (30) pounds upon occasion.<strong></strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>KEY COMPETENCIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.</li>\n<li>Must be able to effectively manage staff and provider working relations.<br></li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of compliance with state/federal regulations of the Injury Prevention and Safety Program.</li>\n<li> <span>Compliance with Medicare, OSHA or other governing agencies.</span></li>\n<li>Good organization and time management skills.</li>\n<li>Dedicated hard worker with ability to report to work on time.</li>\n</ul>",
