We provide:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Comprehensive health benefits that start day 1</li>\n <li>Student Loan Repayment Assistance & Reimbursement Programs</li>\n <li>Family-focused benefits </li>\n <li>Wellness incentives</li>\n <li>Ongoing mentorship, <em>development,</em> leadership programs and more</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Description</h2>\n<p><strong>Shift:</strong>  10 or 12 hour shifts Days </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We're seeking a <strong>Surgical Tech for the  Cardiovascular Operating Room / CVOR </strong>This Surgical Tech assists surgeons and nurses with patients, equipment preparation, aseptic technique, and surgical procedures in the operating room. </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepares the operating room for surgery by assembling routine supplies, materials, instruments, and equipment; obtains special supplies indicated by physician. </li>\n <li>Set up and operate a variety of specialized instrumentation, manual and powered equipment. </li>\n <li>Follows procedures for pre and post-operative accounting of sharps, sponges and instruments used in the surgical set up. </li>\n <li>Accountable for the care and handling of instruments and equipment. </li>\n <li>Maintains inventory of sterile surgical supplies to ensure immediate availability. </li>\n <li>Operates sterilization equipment for the proper sterilization of surgical instruments. </li>\n <li>Follows established sterilization policy and procedures. </li>\n <li>Assists in evaluating various products, supplies and equipment pertinent to the operating room. </li>\n <li>Typical specialty areas include General, Less complex GYN, OB/L&D, Plastic, Minor Vascular, Ortho, and Ophthalmology -cataract. </li>\n <li>Assists in the preparation, transportation, and positioning of patients for surgery and provides for the physical comfort, safety and privacy during the intra-operative patient. </li>\n <li>Observes patient for symptoms which may indicate a change in condition; reports significant observations to the appropriate member of the medical team for immediate attention. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the principles of sterile technique and infection control; practices appropriate procedures to maintain a sterile environment. </li>\n <li>Appropriately cleans surgical instruments and equipment. </li>\n <li>Prepares tissue and other specimens for laboratory analyses. </li>\n <li>Performs other related duties as required. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A high school diploma or equivalent. </li>\n <li>Successful completion of a surgical technician training program or equivalent job training. </li>\n <li>Certified as a surgical technician or two years of experience in lieu of certification. </li>\n <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.</li>\n <li>Ability to float and work independently in less complex specialty areas including General, Less complex GYN, OB/L&D, Plastic, Minor Vascular, Ortho, and Ophthalmology -cataract.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Cardiovascular Operating Room Experience</li>\n <li>ICU</li>\n <li>Cath Lab </li>\n <li>OR </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Note: </strong> This individual will be hired into a Surgical Tech Level I, II, III, or IV commensurate with experience  </p>\n<p>           and minimum qualifications. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>JOIN OUR TEAM TODAY!</strong> Emory Healthcare (EHC), part of Emory University (EUV), is the most comprehensive academic health system in Georgia and the first and only in Georgia with a Magnet® designated ambulatory practice.
