Description
Wright County District Court has an amazing opportunity to join the Civil/Family/Probate Team as a temporary Court Operations Associate in a county with six judges and 26 court staff. This is an entry-level position performing detail-oriented work while providing excellent customer service.
This position involves delivering exceptional service to court customers, judges, and other court-related employees by processing Civil and Family case types. We are seeking individuals with a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-performance environment. As a Court Operations Associate, you will have the opportunity to work independently and in teams, using your judgment and available resources to handle a variety of administrative tasks. Extensive training is provided and knowledge is gained through on-the-job experience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position:
Perform court operations processing work for civil and family court cases. Perform a variety of advanced clerical functions. Provide assistance to attorneys, parties, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronically. Review, enter, record, and update case information using an electronic case processing system and related applications and equipment. Schedule and maintain court calendars. Issues receipts for payment of court fees and fines; responsible for managing and balancing assigned till. Attends and participates in division/team meetings and trainings; maintains knowledge of court policies, process, and procedures. Administrative duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work. Proficient in Microsoft office Suite, with the ability to learn other job-related software.
NICE TO HAVE
Certificate or degree in a related field. Basic knowledge of court procedures, policies, and records management. Experience with electronic document applications, workflow queues and web-based video and audio platforms. Customer service knowledge and experience. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others within and outside of the Judicial Branch. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and files appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Ability to learn and follow rules of court, state statutes, case processing, policies, and procedures of the area of court assigned. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others within and outside of the Judicial Branch. Ability to case process with minimal errors in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to effectively and appropriately support court users who have limited experience with the judicial system. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and files appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes. Well organized, detail oriented, and analytical. Ability to multi-task, balance responsibilities, and focus on priorities. Knowledge of basic math. Skill in the operation of a personal computer, including electronic case management system and related applications and equipment. Skill in navigating difficult situations and resolving conflict in a respectful and courteous manner. Ability to work in an inclusive, multicultural, and multigenerational environment that values diversity.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
This AFSCME-represented position is located in the Wright County Courthouse at 3700 Braddock Ave NE, Buffalo, MN 55313 Work is performed primarily in an office-setting, a public counter and/or in a courtroom. The expected hiring range for external hires for this position is $22.50 to $28.45/hr, based on qualifications. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position is anticipated to last 6 months. Core business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Initial days off: Saturday, Sunday, and Court Designated Holidays.
