    "description": "<h2>Job Description </h2>\n<p><strong>REGIONAL MANAGER, TERMINAL MAINTENANCE</strong></p>\n<p>Tsawwassen </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p>\n<p>We are searching for a Regional Manager to join our Terminal Maintenance team. As a key member of Terminal Maintenance team, you are accountable for ensuring the safe, timely and efficient maintenance of terminal marine structures and shore facilities by managing and executing an effective maintenance management program to ensure safe and reliable operations. You can lead a team of admin, planners, supervisors, and skilled trades in a unionized environment and require knowledge of marine structures, mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical, civil, buildings and sewage plants.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position includes, but is not limited to, management of work in the following fields: marine structures, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, civil infrastructure, buildings and building systems, water distribution and sewage plant systems. This position requires responding periodically to after-hours calls or call outs to respond to emergent issues. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>\n<p>Reporting to the Director, Terminal Maintenance and supported by the Assistant Regional Manager, Terminal Maintenance, you add value to the team in the following categories:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensures that terminal marine and shore facilities are available for safe operation by:</li>\n <li>Planning, developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive and effective preventative and reliability maintenance program</li>\n <li>Developing technical solutions to challenges and presenting options to rectify issues</li>\n <li>Planning and managing operating and smaller capital projects for successful delivery</li>\n <li>Preparing and managing operating and minor capital budgets</li>\n <li>Carrying out the program within budget limits and forecasting appropriately</li>\n <li>Ensuring Corporate and legislated standards are met</li>\n <li>Responding to emergencies as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Assembles and maintains staff capability to carry out the maintenance program by:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Hiring qualified trades people and support staff with required skills</li>\n <li>Developing and implementing training programs</li>\n <li>Providing leadership, mentoring and guidance</li>\n <li>Maintaining a functional organization for region in line with department guidelines</li>\n <li>Assigning, tracking and monitoring work to regional staff</li>\n <li>Taking disciplinary action according to provisions of the collective agreement</li>\n <li>Providing input to the collective bargaining process</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Maintains records of maintenance activity by:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Utilizing CMMS software</li>\n <li>Developing business processes and systems to record historical data</li>\n <li>Monitoring activity and providing progress reports</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Acquires services beyond the capability of the Maintenance department by:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Working within company finance and supply chain policies</li>\n <li>Evaluating bids and proposals for work from contractors</li>\n <li>Negotiating contracts with contractors</li>\n <li>Ensuring contractors operate within BCF safety standard</li>\n <li>Monitoring and evaluating contract work and ensuring costs are according to contractual terms </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Ensures Safe Operations of Maintenance on BCF property by:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conducting risk assessments and incident reviews</li>\n <li>Coordinating with WorkSafe BC</li>\n <li>Ensuring compliance (Environmental, Safety, Training Qualifications)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What you bring to the team</strong></p>\n<p>You posses a four-year undergraduate degree in an Engineering related field or successful completion of a two-year community college diploma, technical institute certification, or equivalent (e.g. trades certification). Registration with EGBC and a Project Management or Maintenance Management Professional Certificate considered an asset. You posses strong interpersonal, technical, organizational, project and time management skills.
