Description
As a Field Integration Engineer (all genders), you will be the key point of contact for our key accounts, providing expert consultation and support in the design and integration of our ultrashort pulse lasers. You will guide customers through system design, laser control, and optimization while ensuring seamless integration into their applications. This also includes diagnosing and resolving 2nd-level service and support requests for our products, which may be related to the integration of the laser. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in collecting and relaying customer feedback to drive continuous product improvement.
Your responsibilities
Consulting key accounts on all aspects of laser integration, including:
Guidance on beam path design
Communication of required optical specifications
Support for laser control, cooling, and accessibility requirements
Advising on optimal laser operation and control; training customers on laser setup and functionality
Installing lasers—primarily custom solutions—at customer sites worldwide in selected cases
Collaboration and support in 2nd-level support for diagnosing and resolving complex service requests.
Providing customer feedback to product management to drive continuous product improvement
Documenting customer visits
Leading the creation of advanced customer documentation and training materials (editorial support provided by a dedicated team for technical manuals)
Travel requirement: 50%-60%
Your qualification
Strong service-oriented mindset and customer focus
Successfully completed degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Physics, Photonics, Laser Technology, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering, or a vocational training as a Laser Technology Assistant (all genders) (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of professional experience in the laser industry
Excellent knowledge of lasers and photonics
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Flexibility and willingness to travel
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Hands-on mentality and structured working approach
