This position holds responsible for overall fleet/equipment support and associated maintenance processes that include inspection, repair, pre/post servicing, vehicle distribution, quality assurance and disposal, perform diagnostic tests on garbage trucks and other diesel-powered equipment to identify issues.</p><ul><li>Oversee the maintenance and repair of all fleet vehicles, ensuring they are safe and operational</li><li>Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life</li><li>Manage and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians, providing guidance and support</li><li>Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement</li><li>Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT requirements</li><li>Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to optimize fleet utilization and efficiency</li><li>Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections</li><li>Manage the budget for fleet operations, including parts, labor, and equipment costs</li><li>Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for parts and services</li><li>Conduct regular safety training and ensure adherence to safety protocols</li></ul><p><strong>What We&rsquo;re Looking For:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>Proven experience as a technician, preferably in the waste management or transportation industry</li><li>Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and vehicle maintenance</li><li>Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems, emission systems, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic and electrical systems.
