    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>LPN - 3 General Inpatient Unit</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Allen Hospital, Waterloo, IA</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Part-time: Days (7am-7pm) OR Nights (7pm-7am) with weekend and holiday rotation.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Shift Differentials: </strong></p>\n<p><strong>$2.05/hour from 3p-11p, $2.75/hour from 11p-7a, Additonal $2.50/hour weekend differential</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>3 General is a 25-bed inpatient unit. Staff here see a variety of general patients.  There’s a focus on respiratory illnesses, renal failure, altered mental status, or GI issues. On 3 General, you will experience a wide variety of patients with high acuity. Consults with supervisory RN and/or other healthcare team members, as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Obtains instruction and supervision, as necessary, when implementing new or unfamiliar nursing practices or techniques.</li>\n <li>Contributes to the admission assessment process by collecting, reporting and recording objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner, within scope of practice. (The initial assessment must be performed by the RN.)</li>\n <li>Assists in the identification of and supports a multidisciplinary approach to determine appropriate patient care interventions to maintain comfort, support human functions and responses and maintain an environment conducive to safety and well-being.</li>\n <li>Assists the healthcare team to achieve the patient care outcomes and goals of care.</li>\n <li>Administers medications and performs tasks within scope of practice.</li>\n <li>Collaborates with the patient/family to anticipate steps needed to ensure safe transitions in care.</li>\n <li>Informs supervisory RN of any changes in patient condition in a timely manner.</li>\n <li>Collaborates with the RN and other healthcare team members to communicate progress towards agreed upon goals of care. Assists in updating the plan and goals of care to reflect changes in needs, under the direction of the supervisory RN.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Completed an accredited LPN program.</li>\n <li>Previous CNA/PCT experience preferred.</li>\n <li>Possess current LPN licensure in the State of Iowa or compact state.</li>\n <li>Writes, reads, speaks, and comprehends fluent English.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates proficiency in the manual skills and techniques required to perform basic nursing procedures and the operation of specialized equipment.</li>\n <li>Ability to successfully complete a basic computer course on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) through in-hospital training.</li>\n</ul>",
