Instructs diverse community members, including people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>This job announcement is not intended to be inclusive of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, however, representative of the essential job functions and typical criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the position.</em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Instructs swim lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.</li>\n <li>Develops positive relationships with members and participants and provides motivational support and guidance.</li>\n <li>Encourages member and parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.</li>\n <li>Communicates information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers members and participants to other programs.</li>\n <li>Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).</li>\n <li>Attends all required staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.</li>\n <li>Works alongside risk-management staff to ensure safety of lesson and program participants.</li>\n <li>Follows and advocates all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. </li>\n <li>Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.</li>\n <li>Organizes and puts away needed class equipment.
