    "description": "<p><strong>Comunilife Inc.</strong> is looking to fill a <strong>Recreational Counselo</strong>r position for its Brooklyn Congregate Program. The&nbsp;Recreational Counselor is responsible for the provision, planning and coordination of recreational&nbsp; activities at the program. They are responsible for the assessment and recommendation for&nbsp; appropriate activities; lead and co-lead activity groups and encourage clients&rsquo; participation in&nbsp; community events. They will also be responsible for planning and coordinating special events and&nbsp; holidays activities as well as provide recreation related trainings to staff. This position is eligible to participate in Comunilife&#39;s generous benefits and paid time off package.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Essential Duties:</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\r\n\t<p>Develop and implement recreational program.&nbsp;</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\r\n\t<p>Provide assistance with activities for daily&nbsp; living as it relates to the use of recreational activities to clients to increase their capacity for&nbsp; independent living&nbsp;</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\r\n\t<p>Develop and implement weekly recreational activities including arts &amp; crafts, games,&nbsp; music and other activities based on client population needs&nbsp;</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\r\n\t<p>Coordinate field trips and outings, i.e., movies, plays, concerts and sporting events&nbsp;</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\r\n\t<p>Document clients&rsquo; progress and participation in the chart&nbsp;</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\r\n\t<p>Establish network of community resources that will provide recreational therapeutic&nbsp; activities&nbsp;</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\r\n\t<p>Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings, as required&nbsp;</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\r\n\t<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\r\n\t<p>Collaborates with Case Manager and/or Substance Abuse or Mental Health Counselors in&nbsp; the development of recreation related long and short term goals as needed</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\r\n\t<p>Provide recreation related training and instruction to staff</p>\r\n\t</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n",
